Gacha Superiority and Why It Doesn't Matter

When to quit a gacha game? Easy. Ask yourself a few questions. Is it still fun? Is the grind worth the time? Do i care about what's happening in story? Is this a good use of my time? Is the difficulty a paid to play sponge rather than challenge to player's team building? If you say no to anyone of these best to rethink a game or two Vice versa wise if you want to start one up. Same thing is it fun. Easy to start late. Any safety nets to help a new player.

I find that all these things are really difficult to answer honestly to yourself in gachas due to how much they promote the FOMO mindset. The better option is to force yourself to not even log in at all for a while. If two weeks later you still feel the urge to get back in, then you're probably still liking enough things about the game to keep playing. But you may find yourself not missing it at all once you have cleared this hurdle of "but I will miss out on XYZ" by forcefully shutting yourself out of the game. Had this experience with a couple games myself where I *thought* I still liked them enough to keep playing but circumstances forced me to drop them for a bit and I found myself without any urge at all to play them again once I actually had the opportunity to again. That's how I realized the only thing keeping me in them was FOMO.

I find my f2p rolls do may better than any paid to play stuff myself personally. Probably because i plan for the worst case scenario while building up my account in using the game systems to the best of my ability. Plus an added bonus of my favorite characters being meta helps. Though if they weren't I'd just be the one who uses off meta to play so it's never a loss to me

Like before in the last video. Everyone play at your own pace. If you can't finish an event due to lack of time or interest in the game itself drop it and find something you enjoy. Gacha games all have a finite amount of time for existing but you playing it like a marathon can help relax your mind and save your wallet. Also don't compare yourself to anyone else. You'll never win since the amount of people playing will probably find someone who just gets better rolls than you. It's a statistical truth. I mean i got the most op units in fgo snf genshin impact all f2p to show I'm one of those that got lucky

My HSR account is whale, meanwhile my BA account is F2P. Both are extremely good account and could clear endgame with ease by now. The only difference I felt between them is the satisfaction after finished building them. Obviously, the BA account wins by default 😂

From my experience. Gacha things is fine as long as they dont put in any aspect of pvp competitive aspect. I like gacha on game like FGO, ZZZ or any hoyo game. Because its mean for single player purpose. But if it on game like Ragnarok online,etc. when highly pvp aspect are on the game feels more disguisting P2W bullshit.

I use "f2p btw" but I don't want to fight against spending, I'm grateful to the whales, thanks to them the gacha I love can stay afloat without me spending. I use it just because I'm vane and sometimes I look for some recognition for my efforts. And because when I show my accounts many would think it's all paid, belittling my efforts. It's the same idea of buying ultimate equip against grinding it. I earned my accounts with sheer willpower, I don't want it's mistaken for cash power. This is an issue that MMO's and MMORPG's have more so than Gacha games. P2W equipment is REAL and turns f2p players away if you can't earn said equipment through gameplay. Players really don’t care all that much about a game being FTP friendly. Aether Gazer is very, very generous with its in game rewards and ability to get new characters, yet HI3 isn’t as generous but one is much more popular than the other. Both games are awesome to play (I prefer AG story, combat and lore but I do enjoy HI3 a tremendous amount too) but one is friendlier than the other in terms of in game rewards.

I see your point, but on the other hand, normalization of predatory practices is bad. If these prices were considered unacceptable, and if lower spending was more normalized, prices in games would be lowered to the maximum people are willing to spend. Being F2P was and still is an experience for myself since if I ever spent in a gacha game, I would get bored of the game. Now the idea is debatable depending on who's views this comment, but I just don't like the idea of me spending in gacha games when I could be spending in other areas of my life. I just chose to not develop a pay to play mindset in gacha games and feeling good just to play the game as it is, enjoying the gachas I play and not to worry about the big stuff (P.S. Gachas tend to have re-runs often if I couldn't get the character and/or equipment being released at the time, so I could plan ahead if how would I be able to get that character. Unfortunately, I find it hard to do so in HSR when I keep losing 50/50, I'll take dupes but would like a Bronya/Clara, just ain't showing up. Like its ok tho, gacha is gacha. What I always found amusing about the "F2PBTW" types is that they don't seem to understand the only reason they have a game to play is due to the others spending money on it. Separate topic, but there's this thing going on about Wuwa vs Genshin right now. I'm in the mind that Genshin is a good game that barely really innovated in terms of gameplay mechanics through its years of existing (they added a new element, dendro, and got a lot of exploration QoL chars, but that's it). These games are specifically crafted to psychologically manipulate you into wasting unreasonable amounts of money on digital waifus. Gambling is a plague on our societies which ruins families and it's good to culturally push back against it. In some countries they culturally encourage this type of behavior and think wasting money on microtransactions is a point of pride. That's bad for society. "It's entirely up to you" is not true when the games are clearly trying to take advantage of people with addictive tendencies to manipulate them. Culturally shaming smoking actually did a great job of reducing smoking rates and vaping "being cool" once again started increasing the rates of young people taking nicotine. There are some cultures that legitimately think it's cool to waste money on microtransactions, it's important for us to make sure our culture doesn't degenerate into that. We need to make giving all our money to these greedy corporations uncool.
