Thanks, Jason. It is a great camera, but it is better suited for longer focal length scopes. The EON is near the bottom of its limitation. I can't wait to try it on the 11" Celestron EDGHD with the FL of 2000mm. In this case, the ZWO camera failed. I do have a new video in the making concerning M 104. I used the Poseidon monochrome camera on the Celestron. I hope to have that one finished very soon. I hope you, Isaac, and others get some good desert views before it gets way too hot. Certainly an interesting camera. I can't wait to try it out on my longer focal length scope, the Celestron 11". The garden is exploding with growth right now. I supose the same reason for not making round solar panels ... square size pixels would result in jagged edges.

Great video! How fast did you cool the 071 camera? I have the same and if I cool it too fast I also get bad anomalies as it creates a slight icing of the sensor even with the dew control on. I have to cool it over a 20 minute period to avoid it.

Hi David, I too have issues with dewing/frosting on the sesnor with the ZWO 071. I do let it stabalize before imaging. The dewing using happens between 0 to -10C, and like yours, the dew heater doesn't seem to be efficient. With that being said, as soon as the sky clears, I plan to shoot the same target at a multitude of sensor temperature settings to see if the halo effect appears, increases or decreases. But, as mentioned in the video, I imaged it on two seperate nights with the same results. Thank you for watching.

@HeavenlyBackyardAstronomy Thanks. My camera won't cool to more than 20 below ambient, a real pain in the summer but manageable in the winter. I've thought about having it serviced but it was a cheap used one when I bought it, might be time for an upgrade lol.

Hi Mike, Yes, I was surprised too when I noticed the two other cameras didn't generate haloes while using the same filters and the same target.

Why do you need that camera? It is designed for long focal length telescopes with perfect flat field. It is basically suitable for PlaneWave 14-20” CDK scopes. For Horsehead as target and your scopes, you need smaller pixels and bigger sensor. You could get asi6200 or qhy600. Twice more expensive than asi2400mc that you tested. Alternatively, you need different scope: PlaneWave or ASA and bigger mount and better focuser. About 50K.

@@HeavenlyBackyardAstronomy Yes, m54 is better for big sensor. I heard that it is excellent camera; sensitive and great dynamic range. Image scale with asi2400mc and c11 with reducer will be about 0.6-0.7 arcsec/pixel. Demanding for mount (and seeing!!!), but doable. To test resolution of the rig, when you resolve Cat’s Eye Nebula center details (all details!), then you are there.
