Legit question. I have a 20 year old home and the vent registers are on the walls and ceilings. How is it advantageous to homebuyers to have them in the floor? I see them near the counters where food drops etc or placed where you'd naturally put furniture that would block them and wonder what builders are thinking. Is there some reason for this choice? I'm seeing it a lot in new construction.

Thank you for watching and for asking. The houses that have the vent registers in the floor tend to have basements or crawlspaces so you can easily install and maintain that ductwork. One of the other reasons that builders are locating the vents on the floor is to allow the warm air to heat the entire space as it moves upward
