Easily the GREATEST comparison video Ive ever needed to see as a lefty!!! Ive been putting off buying a Hyped solid since its been released due to so many other options "close" to its performance and shape. But seeing the Hyped next to the TDX, next to the XP is such a MAJOR eye opener for me! Ball shapes Dont Lie! This trio of a ball review you REALLY addressed some great applications for each ball, and this video alone has knocked me off the fence on the next ball I buy! Luke keep these simple great vids coming....there's an audience for them! #LeftyLife

Is the hyped solid the most under-appreciated release of recent memory? Luke doing the lords work reminding everyone how good this ball is.

I love my hyped solid. There's no other ball in my bag that I can use for as long without swapping to a different ball. I find it's often playable on the fresh, or if not, I can usually switch to it after a game. If I find a line with it, that thing is like a pocket magnet.

That was the comparison I wanted to see. My X over a couple of weeks just gets better, and my TDX seems to get stronger. For me, they are similar, but different enough to keep the carry going except for scorpion, which both got jumpy into G3 when I got past 3rd arrow and it hit the extreme dry from sanded balls. The Hyped Solid just seems to be another great ball, that might help me solve a problem.

Thanks for this comparison. Looks like the TDX does continue thru the pins a little bit better than the other 2. As you said though too close to own more than one of the 3

After much debate between the tour dynam x and the xponant I decided to go with the xponant just picked it up yesterday. Threw it in leagues last night. Tho the lanes were a bit tricky, and with me not being as sharp as normal after not bowling for 4 months, I'd have to say I'm pretty impressed by the xponant. It's smooth and very predictable. I purchased it to replace my 10 year old IQ tour solid which has been a constant in my bag, which at the rate that I purchase ball is impressive in itself, so far I think the xponant might do the same only be a little better option as I think it is going to carry a little better with it's higher differential I don't think it will hook stop like the IQTS did.

just realized you guys are from lawrence kansas. im not far from there and have been to the bowling ally that was connected to wayne and larry's quite a few times. one of my buddies friends used to manage out at wayne's.

being a fellow lefty would you say the xponent or the tour dynam x would be better for a house shot?
@LukeRosdahl11 ай бұрын
Ah cool! Yeah we bowl league on Thursday and Friday and are in there just about every other Sunday morning to film. I'd go with the XPonent, the TDX just doesn't quite have enough differential and the cover isn't quite strong enough, so it's just never in play for me.

I like you're videos seeing how the balls react to 2 dif types of rolls is nice. It's also nice getting an opinion of another lefty :). @@LukeRosdahl

Seeing how good the Hyped Solid was in James’ hand, I’d love to see him throw the TDX. I know he’s got other stuff he just drilled up but thr TDX could be good for him

Can u do a comparison between the clone and the nova?
@LukeRosdahl Жыл бұрын
Probably not, I'm not sure what kind of interest there will be and I have a lot of other stuff to catch up on. The Clone acts just like a stronger Nova though, they're both kind of early and slow, the Clone just hooks a fair amount more than the Nova does.

Loving the vids. I’m pondering between 3 balls. I want a smoother reaction down lane and ball down from the Phaze 2. IQ your solid (pin up) Tour Dynam-x (pin down) Xponent (pin down) Thoughts please.
@LukeRosdahl Жыл бұрын
All of those will be fairly smooth, but I definitely wouldn't pin down a TDX, it's already dangerously low on differential and int diff and if you go pin down, it may flare very little to nothing at all. The ball would be a good choice, especially if you want the same shape as the P2, just not pin down.

Im a low speed player (around 16 mph and 330 rpm and i got (Tropical surge / Hutle mm / Teal Rhino pro / Phaze2 / altered reality / Perfect Mindset )in my bag Do you think Xponent gonne be a good chioce fit between Phaze2 and Teal Rhino pro?
@LukeRosdahl Жыл бұрын
Not quite, it's right on top of the Teal Rhino. That's a pretty small gap to shoot too, I'm actually not too sure what would fit in there. It'd be something like a Zen or Duo.

I'm in a conundrum. I've been avoiding big asymmetrical balls since I have the Gem and can never throw it aside from heavier oil tournament patterns. My solid reactives currently are Axiom, Helios, IQTS, and Hyped Solid. I'm stuck between the Tour Dynam-X and the Xponent. I feel like an Xponent would have more overlap to my Helios than a TDX would with my IQTS and Hyped. Granted, my Hyped has a 5 1/4 Pin-to-PAP compared to 4 1/2 on the IQTS.
@LukeRosdahl Жыл бұрын
The XPonent won't overlap the Helios at all, the Helios has a ton stronger cover. The XPonent will overlap more with the IQTS and Hyped Solid, so will the TDX to a certain degree, but neither of them will overlap the Helios or Axiom at all.

@@LukeRosdahl should’ve prefaced that I’m a lefty, and based on your review, I should’ve already had holes in the TDX. Haha.

Would love to add the TD-X to my bag. Im a Southpaw, not sure of my stats. My current line up is: Purple Hammer, Hy-road, Power Torq, and VIP Affliction. I also have a Motiv Pride that is not drilled, and a Reality that I rarely throw, and only has about 3 games on it. Do you think there will be any overlap with my Torq or Pride?
@LukeRosdahl Жыл бұрын
A little with the Torq, but not with the Pride. I think the big difference you'll see is that the TDX will move inside easier than the Torq

I know this is a really long shot, but are there any similarities between the Tour Dynam-x and the Zero Gravity? I saw a short of you throwing the Zero, so I was wondering what you thought about the comparisons between the two. Asking in preparation for the time my Zero inevitably cracks.
@LukeRosdahl Жыл бұрын
Yes and no, the shapes are absolutely identical but the Zero had a loooot higher RG so it didn't roll nearly as early as the TDX does. It's definitely the closest thing to the Zero by a long shot though, it definitely reminds me of it
@Zudoarichidoari Жыл бұрын
@@LukeRosdahl ahhh yeah that absolutely makes sense. i wonder if drilling a taller pin to pap would help with that on the TDX..
@LukeRosdahl Жыл бұрын
Actually if you went strong pin down that would get the TDX closer. You have to go with at least a 4.5 pin to pap to give it enough flare, that's what the real problem is. You have to increase the flare somehow while trying to also raise the RG and that's difficult to do. I'm not super sure how you'd effectively raise the diff or at least keep it where it's at, while raising the RG at the same time. Typically you could go 5 to 5 1/2 pin to pap to make it longer up front, but that also reduces the flare, and with where the diff and int diff is already, you're going to kill the flare and turn it into a urethane ball. If you go pin down, that raises the RG to help get it further down the lane, but it also reduces the differential, which again, don't want to do that. A 4" pin to pap, but going pin down should still give you some flare, but raise the RG a bit to help out in that direction . .
