This is the highlight of the Tour Montafon! It leads into the rear Silbertal, the spectacular scenery around the long lake and the Silbertaler Winterjöchle. This was worth a visit to me, although you actually need a mountain bike for it.
So the ride goes from Schruns along the Litz up into the Silbertal. The asphalt road ends shortly after the village of Silbertal, then I follow a more or less steep gravel road to the upper Freschalpe. From there you can only continue on foot to the Lange See or to the Silbertaler Winterjöchle. In doing so, you are constantly moving in a truly spectacular landscape in front of the exceptionally rugged mountain Patteriol. The Silbertaler Winterjöchle at the far end of the Silbertal is a passage into the Verwalltal, where you can continue to St. Anton or the Heilbronner Hut. However, the transition from the upper Freschalpe into the Verwalltal is extremely tedious, stony and sometimes muddy and you usually have to push or carry the bike. I spared myself this and left my bike at the upper Freschalpe, I wanted to return to Schruns anyway.
After visiting the lake, it goes back again and on the descent you can enjoy the impressive landscape from above.
