The tent looks great. The side bars are an awesome idea. Also enjoyed the fireside chat. It’s taken me 10 years to get to the beginning of where I want to be too. Had to become homeless for several years in the process, but it has been worth it. I want to started building rammed earth in the spring 🙂

Love the tent! I lived in a garage that was left on my first property. No running water or bathroom but I had a temporary power pole. Used 5 gallon containers then a wood stove or hot plate (depending on how hot the weather was) to cook. It was different but it wasn’t bad.

We really like that wood stove. Pretty cool how it can heat up water. Great looking tent my friend.. looks awesome and well put together..

Thanks, guys! It really is a nice stove. It keeps the inside warm, even in really low temps, but the wood has to be continually added since I have no insulation or thermal mass in this tent. Definitely recommend the stove though. I got it from www.walltentshop.com/

Yeah, I really appreciate the fireside chats. You are totally correct when you say the first step to self-reliance is to be debt free, and minimalism is the way to get there. We live in a very materialistic world today, which to a certain extent is okay. But, when people find themselves hundreds of thousands of dollars in the hole, largely because banks offer huge lines of credit and encourage people to go in debt, then maybe we need to reassess our priorities.

If you wrap the outside with another tarp that barrier would make it much easier to cool and heat!

I couldn't agree with you more than with the fact that this is a system design to keep people in debt. But unfortunately this is the way it'll stay until everyone starts taking responsibility for themselves and for the goods they consume. But I do hope everyone gets back to what's important in life. God, family and good old hard work.

Looks like you got yourself a nice piece of property. I like how you built your tent platform. I’m planning on setting up a very similar tent in northern Canada 🇨🇦 later this year. My biggest concern is keeping warm enough in a subarctic climate.

Nice! New sub here! - looks great! what did you put under the plywood again for insulation? Also, I like how you built a frame versus using the metal poles. Is this a white duck tent?
