Thanks for the Ed Wood video. I was totally in the dark as to who he was. I also used to go to a Thai restaurant on Hollywood Blvd called Siam. They had the best Thai food and Thai ice tea and iced coffee ever. They closed down a few years ago too. Hollywood tends to tear things down when you least expect it. Always enjoy seeing Jah in all your videos. You both have the coolest personalities ever. 👍💕🙏🏻Your vlogs never disappoint❣️

Had an older cousin who pastored a church out in Hollywood during those years. Bela Lugosi attended his church and they became personal friends. Lugosi was friends with Wood who was trying to find an investor for Plan Nine. My cousin was the investor for the movie and had a scene in the movie....he played the preacher in the graveyard scene!!!! His name is Rev Lynn Lemmon. Lynn passed away a few years ago living to be in his 90’s. An old country Baptist preacher from Oklahoma!!

ED lives! Culture should not be judged for quality. We still speak and view his life/film, just like we still eat Campbell' sTomato soup.Ed did for film what punks did for the stilted industry of the 70's.

The way Plan 9 From Hollywood made me feel was it reminded me of when we kids, back in the day hanging out in the neighborhood, would make forts, stages, do Little Rascal- style activities, and pretending to put on shows and “make”movies”. We literally were outside all day and used our imaginations with what little we had. So to see an adult do the same thing, except being able to film it and put it out there, no matter how low the budget (😂and how bad), I think just may be the thing connecting some of us older folks to our childhood days 😂😂😂😂😂😂(and before video games, staying indoors, and squashed imaginations). Besides, I love watching people’s faces when I slip the movie in the DVD player. 😂😂😂

Just watched the Ed Wood vlog for the first time. I’ve been a huge Ed Wood fan since I was a young teenager and was trying to teach myself how to play all my favorite Misfits songs and realized they were all about Ed Wood and his infamous movies. I think Vampira is my favorite Misfits song! Anyways-it was cool to see the block that used to be Ed Wood’s world. It’s so sad that he died poor and an alcoholic. It would’ve been cool if he lived long enough to see younger generations appreciate his movies. I used to have a little rat terrier/chihuahua mix that I named Vampira. She was even smaller than Jah but thought she was a big dog-lol. Great vlog like always man!

Thank you so much sir for the short history of Ed Wood, it was quite interesting. The car you thought was a Mercedes was actually a kit car from the late 70s or 80s & probably powered by a Ford Pinto engine. LOL :-) I love your knowledge and stories of Hollywood folks, and your old car comments make me laugh, in a fun kinda way. :-)

I love the stories of Ed Wood and Bela Lagosi. Ed Wood made bad movies but he helped Lagosi have some dignity at the end of his life. Thanks for showing the location of Phantom of the Opera stage. The stage was tore down, BUT they saved the Phantom set for people to see. Lets hope we get to see it again soon. Up the hill from the Phantom Stage was the set of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I have seen photos of the stage on the net. Both classics were made just thousands of feet apart. Lagosi's 1932 Dracula movie was shot on the Phantom Set. I hope Jah likes the treats you get him from the money I sent. He is cute.

Ed Wood just became FREE on KZbin and I absolutely fell in love with it -- all because of your vlogs!! Revisiting this one now. Thank you so much. I also just watched "Bride of the Monster" and it's GREAT!! It's nothing like the old b/w Japanese creature horror B-movies dubbed in English -- it's actually darn good for what it is, and it shows that Bela Lugosi was actually a GOOD ACTOR (considering the material.) Now on to Plan 9 and then Glen & Glenda!

Would like to add a story about cross dressing that perhaps you hadn't heard. In her autobiography, the actress and swimming star Esther Williams describes her discovering that he-man actor Jeff Chandler was also a cross-dresser. She became friends with Jeff and one day at his home he disappeared into the bedroom and when he reappeared he was dressed in women's clothing. She of course was shocked, but he told her that he enjoyed dressing that way and I guess felt comfortable enough around her to divulge his secret. By the time her autobiography was written and published, Jeff Chandler was deceased.

If you know of any more, I'd love to hear about it.

In the late 90s I met Conrad Brooks at a horror convention and he signed my "Ed Wood Collection" Laser Disc. While talking to him I told him I was making a trip to Hollywood and hoped to visit some sites that Ed Wood had filmed at. He gave me his home telephone number and told me to call him before I left for Hollywood and he would supply me with whatever information I needed. I called him about a week before leaving and he not only gave me location addresses but also insight of his experiences with both Ed Wood and Bela Lugosi. I talked with him for over an hour and could have talked for much longer because he seemed very lonely and enjoyed sharing his experiences and about his upcoming movie projects he had planned. He lived in Falling Waters, WV and told me to stop by if I was ever in the area, unfortunately I was never able to take him up on the offer.

They demolished the Phantom Stage! What! I thought that had some kind of landmark status. When I was there many years ago, it had a plaque about Lon Chaney and his Phantom of the Opera, and I thought I was told they left the stage as is from the time of the silent film (?).This news is just awful. Don’t tell me.....has to do with money. Is nothing sacred? Next it’ll be the Psycho House and the Leave to Beaver House. What a shame.

I discussed it briefly with him. Steckler passed away about 10 years ago and was running his own video store in east Las Vegas of Charelston Ave. Did a voice over for one of my films. Good guy.
