Finally an authentic farm house. I grew up in a 1930's farmhouse and we had stairs just like that. My Grandma's farmhouse was also very similar to this. I don't understand why people think that vintage farmhouse means everything white. They never had white fabric furniture, most people tried to get some color into there homes so everything wasn't so boring. Also colored walls meant that you had some money because color was more expensive. Whitewash was only for poor people who couldn't afford anything else and they were usually embarrassed by it and changed it as soon as they could.

That home is lovely! So authentic. I really like my central air & heat but I grew up on a farm with open windows & doors. And fans. Swings on the porch & under the trees. I'm homesick now!!! I LOVE that clock. I'm looking for one now...preferably a bargain! (Those are hard to find!) I'd be content sitting on one of the porches watching the world.

I am simply enchanted! It’s absolutely wonderful!!! The colors of the siding, windows and doors with the rustic wood of the porch have such curb appeal. I love the wood trim doors and windows inside and your decorating. I love the office area with the four pictures and lamp, it really catches your eye and invites you in. A beautiful home !

Found a house with less storage than our 1930s farmhouse. You make such good use of space. And yet so practical. Yes- I feel her on the stairs- our upstairs bedrooms have a VERY steep staircase. I fell and sprained my ankle once going down them. Another struggle of older homes.

The outside of her home looks very similar to mine. They call my style “ folk Victorian”... I will have to do more research! 😁 I LOVE SQUEAKY WOOD FLOORS! Mine are also white oak... and her stove !!! My Mom had one like at... I have pictures of it in the kitchen.... those round lift parts on the top for sticking wood in! That cooked SO WELL! Wish I still had that beauty! Absolutely adore your home and everything you’ve created. Your home has such good energy, it’s filled with loving objects and belongings that carry emotional meaning to you. I smiled and showed my little girl the fuchsia flowering plant that you received for Mother’s Day as my children bought me the same type fuchsia for Mother’s Day as well.💖 I have this same floor lamp, it came from my grandparents home except the milk glass was broken awhile back. Loved the tour! First the area, I’ve never been to Oregon, you make me want to go and visit the mountains and explore the coastline! Your home is so well loved and appreciated. I really enjoyed the “organic” decorations and am inspired away from knowing that I can purchase the same one at a Hobby Lobby or Michaels! The squeaky wood floor and the screen door reminded me of my visit to my aunts home in WV back in the 1960’s. How I loved that old farmhouse! I loved the Dark Navy paint on one of the doors and the green on your lower cabinets. It’s such an old time “jadite” green color. What brand is the Green paint? Im wanting to paint a piece of furniture and am having a difficult time choosing between blue or green. Thank you so much for the tour. I loved listening to your voice too, you were very calm and entertaining.

My Nana and Poppop had an old stove similar to this one. They used coal and some wood and it was in their kitchen. They had 2 rocking chairs in the kitchen and it was the most charming home and life ever. So, give the stove a go. It was the best heat ever and all of my friends always loved sitting in my grandparent's kitchen drinking my Poppop's special coffee. Nana said, Poppop made the best coffee, and she was correct.

I enjoyed your tour so much. It reminded me of my grandparents farmhouse in the Catskills Mountains in New York. They heated only with wood too with a big parlor stove in the living room. In the kitchen was a big white enamel stove that was wood or propane gas. They didn’t have indoor plumbing so my grandmother pumped the water from a well. It is so refreshing to see a farmhouse that actually looks like a real farmhouse and not some expensive tract house filled with buffalo check and home decor from the same stores trying to pretend they’re a farmhouse. I am clicking off those videos 10 seconds after they come on. You had my attention as soon as we walked in. I was curious to see what was behind every door. That’s what good design should do, make the viewers eye move exactly where you want it to go. Good job! I love how your home looks lived in and not overly staged. It was totally you. It was a breath of fresh air!
