Here's the video I can (finally) make now that I no longer live here, a tour of my apartment complex in Seoul. And I'm talking through the process of renting in Korea and how much rent and deposits cost!
ALSO, disclaimer, this is obviously NOT an ad, but if Episode want to give me free accommodation hit a girly up lmaooooo 😌

these kinds of third spaces and public utilities should be everywhere, it seems so nice

I love the idea of all the different common areas where people can get together. And that working room is brilliant, especially those private balcony spaces.

I've always wondered if residents actually use the amenities other than gyms/roof top space in these type of apartment complexes. They're always empty in all the tours I've seen! Though I am impressed with your building offering classes 😊

Right ? Like that increases the rent so much and yet you don’t use the amenities? Then why not just rent something without the frills

I love these kinds of videos. I’m not brave enough to ever move to a different country alone, but a girl can pretend!! lol. Thanks for sharing all the details!

Given the apartment size not very large these facilities can be useful; however given the management fees it’s important to use

I've been so curious about where you live, the type of building. So, thank you for sharing that with us. The building's amenities look pretty amazing.😊

That's very pricey, I don't know many foreigners willing to pay that much per month unless they are on expat contracts where the company pays. The average ESL foreigner teacher might stay in one of those smaller rooms though but 950k (+ 100-200 maintenance fee) is still high. I suppose since you're coming from London these rent prices might not sound too bad. Koreans would probably put down a massive jeonse money and pay little rent

Very interesting building even if you are just traveling and not necessarily working and want to get a feel for how it is to live there I wonder if that would be possible for a short term stay. Thank you both for sharing seeing a different style of living in a country I never considered before food for thought.

Rent plus deposit together makes this quite expensive I think. The most we have to pay in Germany is 3 or 4 months rent as a deposit. And the landlord isnt allowed to touch this money until we move out. Many people have switched to deposit- insurance now though. But many landlords pretend that type of insurance isnt good enough. But it really is. In that case you pay 0 deposit but rather pay an insurance company a certain amount every month. If the landlord ends up with any legitimate claims against the deposit he will be paid by the insurance.

Wow!!! 😮 What a place! 😍 We don’t have anything like this here in Sweden. I Googled 1,8 won and it’s not that much! Not for all that!! 😍

I mean, that's never a thing youtubers tend to show when moving in. So it was most likely to be the old building.

@@thehungrygoldfish Dumb assumption. I LIVE in S. Korea. Pay attention. 2 million won is a LOT. because of the use of key money (deposits.) So shush yer face.
