The heated floors keep the floors dryer due to the heat. Makes the barn look lots more comfortable and clean. We have them in our hog barn as well as the farm shop. Very nice 😊

About 35 years ago I built a few dairy barns in NS Can. They were more or less state of the art then. This is fantastic! I did some concrete but mostly structural. Parlours, electrical and so on were all subbed. The biggest one I did was for 300 plus milking and was the biggest job I ever did. New barns here are mostly steel frame now and robotic milkers are making inroads especially on the smaller ~ 100 cow herds. We did some slat floor and some with ally scrapers which I am a little surprised you did not use.

I am from New Zealand and I really love watching your video's. You do have a massive setup on your dairy farm . We are not even close to having dairy sheds like that at all. It's only because we don't have snow in most places of New Zealand just cold air for winter lol. Thank you for your video's.
@SerEnmei4 жыл бұрын
that's because our cows here live in the outdoors, even down in Otago where it can get very cold. Probably one of the reason why NZ has the best dairy industry in the world.

I grew up milking 45 cows in a tie stall barn in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania back in the late 80s & early 90's on my grandparents dairy farm. I was always so fascinated with milking parlors & the technicality of them, and dreamed of building one on my grandparents farm one day. Unfortunately that didn't happen and after a long financial struggle, they had to sell off the herd and eventually the land. Its nice to see dairy farms like yours and 10th Generation Dairyman still thriving and making it look good while doing it! Local dairy farms are few and far between anymore. Keep up the good work!

Hi Jan, Your video skills are incredible. I grew up on a large dairy farm in Pennsylvania during the 70s and 80s. We were milking around 550 cows back then. It is great to see a new and modern set up like you guys have. Do you raise all your bull calf's as steers and then sell them? Keep up the Great work and stay warm up there.

Nice set up. Our family farm in lower Adirondack mountains in up state New York USA is a small farm because of mountains. But it’s one of 5 of the oldest working farms in USA. There’s plenty of money for small farm but not big ones anymore town has lake so tourists are building lake houses. Wish our family farm was as big as yours and had the equipment.
