Shower ideas you can do like corner shelf with the tile or do like 3 in between the studs kinda like a shelf I would do 4 of them seems to much.

*Sorry for the long message!!! I'm sooooo happy to see a walk-thru with Macy. It was fun to see her excited and visualizing things. Your expert ability to explain things is helpful and refreshing. It's obvious you know your stuff. The house is spectacular. Already! You should be really, really proud of yourself Brad. We've seen some of the other magnificent homes you've built, but to get to see the process of this one is a really cool experience. I'm especially hopeful that maybe we can learn a bit about how the flooring guys do all of the seamless transitions. I don't need to see them do it, haha, but to have it explained after the fact would be really good to know! As someone who uses mobility aids, I find the two biggest in-home, everyday hassles are transitions from one type of flooring to another and door widths. It's not that the walker is too wide, but I sometimes have to put things in a bag and hang it from my walker handles to get from one room to another. The bag often bangs or gets stuck in the doorway, etc. It's just a pain in the butt. The wheelchair fits too, but you don't want to cut it too close and scrape your knuckles or bang your elbows. That's the worst!!! Anyways, all this to say that I'd love to learn more about how they match heights, etc. On the other hand, I'm sure I could look into it myself and not bug ya! Maybe it's a good video idea though. A video focussed on all of those extra special things - sometimes subtle - that make a huge difference.... There are so many other things that would be cool to see how or learn how they do. I hope you get where I'm going with it. God bless ya if you do! I got home tonight from 3 days in the Emergency Dept... 3 days... If I hear one more beeping thing right now, I may go nuts, haha! Aaaaaand, last but not least... speaking of beeping things... I think you should take your new horn gun home and show Mrs Brad the Builder! I'll bet she'd LOVE it!? Seriously though, that was hilarious. I laughed so hard when Macy tried it! Hi Heather, i’ll work on showing more of the details as we start working on installing the tile, flooring and cabinets etc. The majority of Flair‘s doors are 36” inches wide so that would be beneficial for someone in a wheelchair or walker to get through! Something as simple as putting moisture board in the basement all seasons room instead of standard drywall is what good builders do. Not so much “overkill” it’s the things like that, that make your builds last and stand the test of time. Your clients gotta be happy with the outcomes of these projects/builds.

drooling , really wish i got to work with our maintenance guy at the jeep dealer i use to work for he was pretty much project manager when we had to improve stuff for the wagoneer debut and the owners place plus the owners 3 kids homes , they sold the location by me, i still remember when they moved the cashiers desk and added an office to the shop which was supposed to be the general manages office (owners youngest kid ) now its our service directors office , that was the past and id never go back to the auto industry, if anything the carpenters , plumbers or electrician union, was not comfortable with the railroads training/promotion period, went to a vocational school for heavy equipment while i was in high school but havent acted on it , before i graduated was the last time i was in the operators seat .

Hey Brad I was wondering how your going to get that tub it the bathroom. I have been a plumber for years and I always have to pull a couple studs in the walls apart and walk that tub in. I have never walked it threw a finished hall way or around doors especially since it's so heavy.

I'm curious what state you live in, the state of Virginia You can't put sheetrock directly against the fireplace, you have to have fireproof material 12 in on all sides of the fireplace, we use durock for that. Also we can't lay Stone on sheetrock, a fireplace like you have in this house I would have used 1/2 durock all the way up with no sheetrock.

I’m in Nebraska. Can you bring up a good point… I just recently learned that Stone is going all the way up to the ceiling so we might have to change out the drywall for the rock.

@@BradtheBuilder I would use 1/4 durock over the fireplace there's no reason to pull down all that drywall. Also in that large shower I really like using that schluter ditra underlayment for tile, it's waterproof and you just thin set it to the durock.

My husband owns his own tile installation company and has for over 20 years. He wanted me to comment. Do not put tile on the shower bench. You need to install a solid surface. Grout lines on a bench are not good and could cause black mold underneath over time.
