Sridhar seemed to be very logical & frank. Besides he had the humility of respecting his partner's views & the nobility to carry all of them with him. Sarojadevi was mostly glamorous. She was hardly known for her acting talent on the lines of Savithri & other heroines of her prime time. Yet paradoxically she had a very successful & long film career.But for the support & patronisation of MGR her film career might have ended long back.

I am sorry for Saroja Devi. She was an extremely charming and talented actress. After the success of Kalyanaparisu, Nadodi Mannan and Bagappirivinai, she became very popular and was in high demand as the heroine for MGR, Sivaji, Gemini, NTR and Nageshwara Rao. A highly efficient manager was needed to manage her appointments. It was too much of a task to handle by herself and her mother. Mistakes were bound to happen. We can guess but do not know what sort of pressure was exerted on her by MGR and Thevar. Sridhar should have jyst ignored the bluff of Saro. Afterall, other than Kalyanapparisu and Kaathalikka Neramillai all the other movies of Sridhar were only so so, whereas Sarojadevi established herself as a No. 1 heroine in so many languages and produced innumerable number of hit movies. As per Kumudam review, Saroja Devi's performance in Kalyanaparisu is much better than that of Vijayanthimala's in the Hindi version.

Nonsense! Vyjayanthi is much more beautiful than Sarojadevi. Saroja Devi was dark, full of pimples and couldn’t face the camera without make up. She flopped when colour films became the norm because she had to paint her face so much. Vyjayanthi was a natural beauty and full of grace.
