Town of Caesarea, Israel Town of Caesarea-Philippi, Israel Town of Tiberias, Israel Herodium (King Herod) Masada Fortress Pontus Pilate Stone Arch of Titus (in Italy) A New Covenant was prophesied to have been given to Israel (Jeremiah 31:31-34). It would have been given at some point after Judah returned from Babylon (Jeremiah 50:1-5). It would have provided atonement for Israel’s sins (Ezekiel 16:59-63) after the Old Covenant was broken (Deuteronomy 31:16, Jeremiah 11:10, Hosea 8:1).

Psalm 2 says to kiss God’s son and take refuge in him or God will be angry with you. The church is the wife of the Messiah (Ephesians 5:21-33). Israel is the wife of God (Hosea 2:1-16, Song of Songs, Jeremiah 3:14-20). The church serves its spouse.

I may never get the opportunity to be within arms reach of Rabbi Singer, but I would still like to beg that he and his kind take me with them. I only wish to know God and live by his will in kind; no other religion has proven itself truer than that of Abraham, Moses, and Daniel. Tens of long years my soul drifted hungrily amidst world ideologies without a basis to cling on favoring one over others. Why? Because one must destroy what they are to build what could be. Knowing that my childhood Catholic roots grew from unchallenged assumptions & unfertile soil, an existentially miserable agnostic journey from ideological scratch necessarily began. @leoyohansen6811 OK from the time of Artaxerxes I. The problem with this time period are a few: This dates is said to end with the baptism of Christ not his crucifixion. But if you are correct, the problem still remains on what follows in Daniels 9 after the Messiah is cut off. The destruction of the temple needs to follow and remain within the last week, which is the 70th week. If Messiah was crucified, the temple must have been destroyed within the remaining 3 1/2 yrs after but it did not. Temple was destroyed in 70 AD, 40 years after Christ was crucified. 40 years requires an additional 5-6 more weeks making the whole prophecy fulfilled in 76 weeks, not 70. Daniels 9 :23 says to "to seal up vision and prophecy". By the end of the 70th week, it must complete the full prophecy But the Temple was destroyed 40 yrs later, adding additional weeks to the 70 weeks. How do you reconcile that for yourself?

I believe that was completed once and for all during the first century. Christ is King today, the temple was destroyed once and for all, where we are now the temple of G-d and the gathering of Israel was initially completed during the first century as the first fruits of G-d for the first Jews that were saved during the first century along with those saved today.

I think he means the “Hebrew scriptures” aka the OT points to jesus. But the “hebrew scriptures” aka the OT was read in Greek and quoted in the NT using the Greek translation not the Hebrew, therefore Paul is not misquoting Jer 31 because he is quoting Greek. When missionaries say “your Hebrew Scriptures point to Jesus” is not saying your Hebrew translation; they are talking about the OT. Just trying to clear the misunderstanding that seems to be here. So just to clarify when the “church” says Jesus can be proven using the “Hebrew Scriptures” they aren’t talking about the Hebrew translation, they are talking about what is known as the “Hebrew scriptures” aka the OT.

The guy basically saying... when the author of Hebrews was quoting from Jeremiah it wasn't Hebrew or a correct translation from Hebrew. That the copy of Jeremiah was translated in Greek and then the book of Hebrews copied that translation. Yet even the translation of the Tanakh in English still doesn't match the words in the NT. Tho there are still words not translated correctly. Yet that's not the issue. It's the whole verse. It's the meaning of the verse that's incorrect. Adding a verse/sentence and taking away is the issue. Which then changes the whole meaning of what is being said changes... I am dumb and hate English and grammar. (It's my only language) Yet it's not hard to understand the issue at hand. If a child can't grasp the message from God... then we are doomed. God isn't difficult to understand. Dear Christian caller: If Hebrews is quoting a Greek translation then you have the problem that Hebrews is relying on what is (a) Not the original text, but a translation, and (b) the translation it's relying on is wrong. If Hebrews is quoting the original text then it has the problem of editing the holy words of the prophets to match its agenda. Either way there's a big problem. So I don't see how saying that Hebrews was quoting a translation helps.

About prophesy the name Jesus is never named in the Hebrew Bible. Now in 1 King 13. 2 there is a prophesy about that in the house of David shall be born a son with the name Josiah, and he should slaughter the priest who offer the fire of offer. Long time after this was fulfilled in 2 King. 23. 15, and the name is named, King Josiah. So here we see a true prophesy. If God were to have body and form, He would be limited and defined, because it is impossible for there to be a body which has no limitation. Everything that has limitation and definition, by virtue of its body, also has a limited and bounded power. Since God's ability and power have no limitation or boundary, His power is not the power of a body.
