TOW Orc and Goblin vs Wood Elves 15.11.2024

Time to give the Wood Elves another go in The Old World. I had a bit of trouble with them on their first outing in the new rules so my hopes were modest.. but with Sean coming over for a game I figured he might bring the Orcs and Goblins, and I wanted to mix it up a little (we had been doing a few games with Dwarves vs the Orcs already). What ensued was a surprisingly considered and cunning battle.
Tactical enhancement was Gin. Possibly a crafty gin, but it's hard to tell these days. That's how crafty gin has become around here.

You need to paint your dragon a bright colour so you remember to use it :p

I'm sure you played that charge against the mage properly... a flyer must fit when it lands. Also, the Mage was a skirmisher so the Wayvern was not allowed to wheel to charge it as skirmishers align to it and not the reverse and when you charge a skirmisher you must go the shortest path and simply hit them. We have a house rule though that don't allow flyers to fly over other units that also fly. So a flying units act like a regular unit against other flyers for movement purposes. We find that to make flyers more tactical and it also seem logic. But as I say, that is just a house rule.
