Ross is good. He bought Phoebe a bike and taught her to ride it because she never had one. At the end of the series he even got Rachel's job back and negotiated a higher salary for her, seriously! I think he's one of the most selfless people in the group.

Rachel expected to have exclusive rights to Ross, totally neglecting their relationship and even breaking up with him and still expecting him to wait at her beck and call until when/if she ever wanted to get back together again. Even years later she still sabotages his relationships with other people (Bonnie) because while she doesn't want to be with him, she doesn't want him to be with anyone else so she knows she has him available as a fallback or even just to use (see when her dad has a heart attack and she wants to sleep with him to make her feel better, then gets angry when he refuses). One of my biggest gripes with the series was the way the writing seemed to gloss over and even justify Rachel's awful behaviour. That people take her side is baffling.
