We walk around the quaint and scenic historic gold rush town of Julian, California. This is one of my favorite towns and regions in California - a historic and well preserved town surrounded by beautiful countryside landscapes. A great day or weekend trip from LA or San Diego.

It seems like it would be in New England rather than California. It has that look. Is it in a wooded area? I've never been there and I'm planning a visit soon.

It is definitely a landscape not characteristic of southern california. More like norcal or oregon. It is part wooded, part farm and ranchland. well worth a visit. -WMM

Julian is known for its delicious apple pies, there other desserts are very good as well, but their apple pies are worth writing home about. If you want to spend a relaxing day just strolling through the town, I highly recommend Julian, I wouldn't call it a tourist trap, even though a lot of its revenue does come from tourists, but it's just a lovely little town to stroll through and enjoy some very delicious food. There's also the San Ysabel reservation before you get to Julian, I'm from the Barona Reservation which is about an hour or so from San Ysabel and Julian. It can get very cold in Julian, and it does snow up there.

I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO GO TO JULIAN CA HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT IT ACTUALLY I ALMOST WENT IN 2020 BUT DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC THE TRIP WAS CANCELLED, BUT STILL WANTING TO VISIT JULIAN CA KEPT THINKING OF THE PIES,AND APPLE PICKING.
