Dustin, you’ve created a very loyal community of followers. We’ve witnessed your work ethic, your care of people’s property, regardless of the condition you find them. You’re respectful to law enforcement and first responders. You ask how the occupants of the vehicles are, if injured, and even ask that we keep them in our thoughts and prayers. You jump in and help other tow operators when they’re on scene and need assistance. You have nothing to apologize for here. In fact, my respect for you is greater because of your willingness to look vulnerable and admit to what you deem as a “mess up”, when it actually was an unfortunate situation based on the elements and the scene. I hope you see from the many supportive comments here that you have the respect of your followers. Please, take care of yourself (we’re concerned about that lingering cough). God bless.

BRO! You should’ve known better. JUST KIDDING BRO I backed onto someone property once after hurricane sandy and the whole truck sunk to the frame and it took me almost 1 hour to get out. 😂😂 The only part you messed up on was calling the boss for help. You needed to call the wife and say “babe bring me the deuce” and record it for us 😂 Stuff happens and never question it bro. None of us are perfect and we have our days man. I’ve been towing for 25 years and I’m not perfect bro. I’d rather get that phone call than “I crashed the truck or I damaged a vehicle” call. You’re the man bro! Be safe out there. Glad you out there video up and shared your experience with us. God bless brother.

I was in a 4x4 club back in the 80's. The president of the club got his 4x4 truck stuck in the mud. He was also a tow truck driver. Someone else drove him back in town to get his tow truck. They wound up getting it stuck. By the time it was all said and done, the club had around 6 or 7 trucks stuck, including mine, in the same area. Had to wait a few days and let the ground dry out, before we could get them out. We all learned not to make that mistake again.

i agree with lining up because that cable was struggling with the trees but as for getting stuck it probably would have happened anyways unless he got enough grip to get the truck moving fast enough to get up hill the only safe bet would have been to have a ridiculous amount of cable and you just cant use up all the space for that its a no win situation really

I've been in a similar situation. I do long distant auto transport and got a job to haul a '71 Pontiac Bonneville convertible out of a field in New Mexico. it had been sitting for five years and there was snow and mud everywhere. When i tried to winch the car onto the trailer, it pulled my rig (a Ram 3500) backwards. After blocking the truck and trailers wheels and locking the truck's wheels in 4-wheel drive low, the Pontiac finally broke free and went on the trailer. Then my truck got stuck! An hour and many pieces of broken plywood later i was finally on my way. it would be four miles of mud and snow before i hit pavement. Three days later, I delivered the car to it's new owner in Detroit.
