I’ve just started the video, but I’m hoping that the officer got her id or at least her name/contact information. At the very least he has her license plate on video, id imagine he could talk to the police and track her down. Granted it may not be a lot of money and it may not be worth his time. However for me it’s the principle, I mean seriously she didn’t even *THANK* him for helping her out. How self centered and entitled can a person be. Thinking back to her asking him if he had a gas can(despite her saying she had one I’m guessing she meant a full gas can) if he did have a full gas can and gave her some gas it wouldn’t surprise me if she took off without paying for that either. People like her are why companies require individuals to pay for services up front. Which a lot of people find annoying or ridiculous, and at times it can be inconvenient. But if they don’t get paid upfront then the company very well could get stiffed on the bill.

Theft of service is you take a service but refusing or avoiding payment. He was not a random guy who just helped her out, that is his job and he was on a service call.

I'm an automotive locksmith. You NEVER leave without getting paid. We make lost keys and lockouts. When we open the car we grab the keys until they pay us. On a lost key we don't hand over the key until they pay us. Past experience is why we do this. We also pull behind them. I have had people try to not pay in every situation. I have actually locked the keys back in the car with non payers. I have driven off with newly made keys. Working with the public has jaded me. I make everyone honest by taking their opportunities to stiff us away.

When I was in my 20s a friend and I would cruise around in the winter in a 4 wheel drive truck. We were just checking out the snow when we used to actually get snow. We stopped and pulled people out all the time . Never took any money. Then we started getting people who said if you damage my car by the way you hooked to it you going to pay. We tell them fine hook it up yourself . O no you do it. Nah we are gone. Then it was well can you get someone else or get us a tow truck . It would be no. Cop will find you. Before cell phones. We knew how to hook it so there was no damage , but some were in the ditch so bad it was hard to tell if they were already damaged and we weren’t taking the chance.

A few years ago, the roads were slippy as hell, so I landed in the ditch on my way to work so I called a local tow man to come help me, I told him I was broke nothing in my accounts I couldn't pay with card, but I had cash I was saving for an emergency at home, so I told him I would stop by his house and pay him after work, I could tell he didn't believe me but I stuck to my word, he told me when I got there that he had already wrote me off as his good deed for the day because he thought he was never going to see me again, so I gave him thee money as a tip, I think we both needed some good karma that day...

What a BIT**! Hope you were able to contact her insurance company and tell them the circumstances as to why her L rear bumper was damaged. Also, report if your tow truck was damaged. Enough damage was done to her car, that a police report could possibly make her pay for the jump start. At least her insurance company will know what type of customer they're covering! It would entail a bit of paperwork, but a black eye on her driving record would be enough revenge, iIn my opinion. Thanks for posting Johnny and you're safe to work another day.

I have had to have my Jeep towed twice this year to a dealership for repairs. The first time the radiator in my Jeep broke thankfully I had just gotten home when I noticed stream coming from the engine compartment and radiator fluid leaking onto the ground. The second time I hit something in the road and ripped the under shield of my Jeep. I didn’t want to drive it because I thought with it hanging down it might fire. I carry my own jump starter after a few of my family members had car troubles. I have three of them. A small one that you can charge as you drive and will start a motorcycle or up to a four cylinder engine. Then a slightly bigger model that does the same as the first . But my favourite one can charger a 12 volt portable fridge or a motorcycle right up to a milk truck. Plus it has phone charging slots and a massive light on it.

My guess is when she asked Johnny if he had a gas can she meant a full gas can, and that she was angling for free gas. When he said he didn’t have one she just said she did as a ploy to get away from the scene. Not a smart ploy necessarily but as she shows she isn’t likely the brightest crayon in the box. And id imagine there’s plenty of people who have empty gas cans in their trunk.

He jumped first thinking it was likely out of fuel but since it was running he suggested she drive immediately to the gas station (another cold start may have used the last of the fuel.) We get burned all the time trying to be nice. He had a hint she probably didnt have the money but I think he hoped that she would try to work with him. Usually when towing you hold onto their keys until paid or with a jumpstart you park your truck behind them so they cant leave until you do. This was a sort of unique circumstance where she managed to dupe a tow driver as well as PD. People get disgruntled when you tell them it will be 80 dollars for 30 seconds of work not caring or bothering to think about the 14k pounds of steel you had to drive to the scene or that the several hundred dollar jump box is likely paid for out of your own pocket....

This goes to show that "trusting" before receiving payment will most likely leave you disappointed. Years have long gone where you could trust the word of most anyone. Go back to the start of the video. She doesn't look the least bit "normal". She has IV ports in both wrists or bandages, she has a wrist band (patient ID), she was found "sleep" in her vehicle. I had a friend that was a tow truck driver. The police where I lived would call for tows that were far from the accidents so the people would get charged more(illegal, I know, but they still did it). He told me that the owner could require (leave the instructions by the windshield VIN) the police to call a particular tow company rather than the cop’s choice. Hope no one needs this info 😊

I wouldn’t be surprised if that first woman didn’t even have $10 or $20 for gas. Let alone money for a jump start. Sleeping in a car with the motor off in Atlanta in August or September with an empty gas tank in sight of a gas station isn’t something that people who can afford gas do.
