It's not laziness. I grew up in an area where dumping like this happened. It was pretty much just poverty and the fact that people couldn't afford to pay for garbage service. When the choice is between paying for garbage service and your children having food and diapers, most people will just choose to dump. Garbage service should be free for all, otherwise we will always face this sort of dumping behavior.

I clean my neighborhood every day when I'm out walking my dog. There's an area a block or so outside my neighborhood that is always so dirty with trash all in the gutters and yards. I started making an effort to clean it up little by little every week. I'm making progress, but it's a lot of work. It's terrible how people don't care. I keep hoping they will see how good it looks cleaned up and continue my work.

What a good citizen. I feel this is the. It's responsibility to care for our city towns community instead of building more homes and sidewalks roads . It looks so nice to go to small city's that people are proud of there community and neighbors, that what our or the tax money is to be used for I mean property taxes trash cans , bad citizen s to do commnity penalitys , iknow it would bebetter if all who could help would help, could even lose weight and look good and be proud u did this for God ur land and self.

All that garbage does is bring vermin. I remember as a child we'd all go clean. If there were elderly we clean or mow there too. As a child we'd mow lawns, deliver papers, run odd jobs, I'd make money and at Christmas it would be amazing to experience the kindness from my neighbors. @@carollykins9475True. Best thing is for the city to have a community clean up day and place many construction size dumpsters around the community. That is a positive in my community. We also have community day garage sales at the local park. Every thing helps. Not all people have trucks to get items to the dump. Plus garage sales helps to recycle good items we don’t want in land fills. Win/Win.

@@lornagilbreath6890 Unfortunately, this is fairly likely. I live in Michigan, a lot of the areas that Sean helps out in are incredibly impoverished. A lot of folks that exist in that condition aren't concerned with making things nice, they're trying to constantly figure out how to make ends meet. It's not a good situation and it almost always devolves into serious neglect like we see in lots like this. At least cleaning it up will prevent it from getting worse than it was, but it will need continued maintenance if it is to stay nice.

Unbelievable!! What a horrible mess that was. Can't the city fine people who dump their diapers, roofing materials and so many trash items? You are a saint for all the hard work you put into that HUGE project. You are a good human! Maybe the neighbors will take it upon themselves to do a regular cleaning now and then to nearby properties.

I was thinking the same thing. Most valuable citizen award. The city can lean the property owner for not keeping their property up. Handicap people would not be unable to access the sidewalks. For safety. Also cameras up on the poles would hopefully be a deterrent. He’s worked so hard. Thank you for caring!

After the city cut some brambles in a local street next to me, decades of shredded garbage surfaced. I collected that for 4 hours and hauled it back to my home. Ever since it has been a pleasure running, walking, cycling, and driving there. Sweaty work, but rewarding work.

No one else has done the level of work you have done since you started. I watch a number of other people that do yardwork and they don’t even pick up the trash. Everyone could take 60 minutes out of their week and do work together with their neighbors. Does it bother your eyes to see dirt? It would also be educational for children to see their parents move towards a common cause.
