Toxic Spencer Doesn't Like His Terminals Touched - Resident Evil: Resistance

Pretty much an update on the Solitaire Spencer build. Enjoy!

A note I forgot to add about equipment: I mentioned instead of Transistor 1 you could use Miniature Reactor. There are 2 more options, Cooling Fan 3 and Thermal Grease 3. I stopped using those equips because competent teams will keep the camera down for long enough, of course it'll be useful when you screw up and lose the camera but I don't care if it'll help me more against the not so great teams if it doesn't help against the better ones. Transistor 1 will always give me 1 more second of shield, Miniature will always give me more energy, camera recovery equips will probably not be fast enough to make a difference. If the camera goes down, so does the terminal (unless no USB and/or they do not shoot the camera). EDIT: The updated version of this build uses Leech Rifle instead of Crawler. Leech Rifle has the same cost as a Crawler if you land 1 shot and serves as a free Terminal interruption tool (as well as economy source if you land more than 1 shot). The drawback is it is slower to use than instantly using a game recommended location and placing down the Crawler, as well as losing other Crawler benefits (potential bites and gun combos, controlling lifts and doors etc.), but also Survivors no longer gain 5 seconds from spawned Crawlers. Note: Instead of Generator Mod - Small, Red Queen Mod (or OS Mod) can be used. The advantage is it will constantly cost 1 making it an easy cycle card, especially when you are dealing with 3 Mods which make it hard to cycle, normally you'd be forced to spend the Shuffle Mod which makes you lose its cycling potential, with Red Queen you get to keep it. This makes it easier to gain Shield faster, but you lose that advantage of having a small Bio Energy gain increase. Both variants are equal I guess, Red Queen probably really helps dealing with bad RNG though, making it easier.

That Symbiosis is life, I love it XD that crazy shuffle and shield though wow Lol the salt. I swear though, whenever we do gun build they complain so much... I have had RQs with my Nicholai. But it's the only best meta to actually win especially swat teams. I've been using Spencer for spam creatures but since I've been playing a lot of Nicholai, I should change my build on him to this kind of build. Guns is the way in this current update. I never thought of using the Transistors, I need to try those. Thankiess

I loved reading the NitexHUN conversation (5:50) U get a hug tho. What a bro Irl talk, the fact that so many people record their games is amazing. It educates people on how builds work. However, i think it’s very understandable why people might think you are hacking. With no way to see if a spencer is using Mod Recycler in this build, Survivors are left assuming that you’re hacking, because the optimal way to use Mod Recycler has changed so much. You literally have to build your deck for mod recycler, rather than saying “oh, I’ll just use 2 efficiency mods and get 10 bio energy”... no no no. Small generator mod is very strong, I wonder what you could do with Red queen mod? The obvious choice is Mechanic Alex, but with T-Phobos being so hyped up, people aren’t really running creature-trap hybrid builds. I think the smarter way to play with Red Queen mod is to make a deck that works better on maps with more doors, so you can lock doors more often.

Yeah, I know, it is easy to assume a Spencer using this build is cheating. xd I'll try to upload a Red Queen Trap Alex build again soon, a pretty strong version of it. I have a T-Phobos variation of it (Virus Mine + Highly Explosive combo) but I don't know if it's better than the other one. T-Phobos is a pretty cool passive but I don't know if it's worth replacing Amplify with it, in most cases probably not. And as you said, doors are your best friend with that build, though maybe not only the way you think at the moment. The issue with creature-trap hybrid builds on Alex is if you really want to make your traps to be good you have to sacrifice a lot, meaning your creatures will suffer, and without Amplify you will struggle a lot with infection (Viral Canisters will take out points that could be used to enhance traps and vice versa). The latest Alex video I uploaded is still a kind of very hybrid build that was pretty decent, but traps even there aren't as great as they can be. The newer build will be very trap focused, something I was very hesitant about, but the equipment made it work wonders, including against top tier swat teams. For this Spencer build, you can also try running Red Queen instead of Small Gen and replace Machine Gun with Airburst Trap, as well as use Lucas Special and Cable 3 instead of Unstable Generator and Transistor 1. It is probably a more fun version but overall an inferior build, a friend of mine tried it and ended up reverting back to a more gun based build.

So here´s a story for ya... I tried the build and survivors loved it. They even messaged me gg and told me that they still have ways to go and that one day they will beat me. They then wished me good luck in future games and said they are looking forward to the next time they face me. Kidding of course. This build is stronger than ivyspam spencer because of the inevitability of it. If the cards are at least a bit in your favor that shield stays there forever, survivors get interrupted always and I am pleased by that.

Do you think usb 3 and baton could slightly counter this build?Im on ps4 and I have seen the resurrection of terminal Spencer so that's why I'm asking. If I'm not wrong terminals take with usb 3 and baton 4.5 seconds instead of 7.5

Yes, USB 3 + Baton is always a challenge when using this build.

Yes it can work, you'll have a bit weaker terminals in exchange for it which may or may not be worth it to you. Honestly, if the team doesn't have USB it may be better to use EM Pulse, otherwise however if they run USB defending the terminals will be difficult.

I now im late but I've been using this build apart from small generation card. But I use energy leech rifle and machine gun. But I use the passive that let's me have 20 bio energy. Or do you think symbiosis is better, because I don't really run out of bio energy.

I like Symbiosis because combined with discount (that also turns into 1 cost) most of the cards become 1 cost, I think that is more significant than the benefit from battery. I think battery will serve you more if you decide to use Reroute for A3 though, maybe only then. Do note I haven't tried Battery with this build, but I am happy with Symbiosis. And yeah, I replaced Crawler with Leech Rifle now.

I wonder.. Have you had any use for FULL S.? I've used it a couple of times and its ok but I don't see it doing all that great because you never want Survivors reaching A3 anyways.

@@BiohazardRevelations Less useful than Hypercharge imo, not worse than Overcharge Mod though. It can make you abuse Mod Recycler and cycle more frequently though you may also have to spend a Mod when you get a 4 Mod hand. Overall, Hypercharge should be more useful and practical. (I've never tried the card though).

So many Jans using Malware. Am I the only one who thinks Malware is just not good? Honestly it's a pain when I'm Daniel or Annette, but when I'm using my Spencer or Nicolai they are just wasting their time trying to hack all my cameras. Instant and Lockdown are much better if you want to actually be supporting your team and not just piss on the masterminds inactive cameras.

I’ve played enough with this build and I can finally tell how it can be defeated. 1 by tricking u by going to the other terminal if u don’t have a shield in your hand and 2 by unlucky hand

Defeated many teams that tried changing terminals, doing so is a double edged sword. You give me enough time to cycle into another shield and refill energy if I was low, if unlucky I will not be able to get a shield in time and waste energy instead but that rarely happens to me, it is best to do if 2 terminals are close to each other (and not defended by the same camera) so going to a different one takes very little amount of time. This build can crumble if you pressure the MM to constantly get a shield to defend one terminal and hope they make a mistake/run out of RNG, by leaving you give them a chance to recuperate. The challenge is you cannot tell when the MM is struggling. But I will say, there was a speedrun Jill that did pressure me by constantly changing the terminal she was going to, hoping I would waste shields, they were a smart team that were probably communicating with each other and had the Jill leave the terminal after I used a shield and started taking out the camera of a different terminal hoping I wouldn't get the chance of getting another Shield (in that case camera recovery equipment may not be a bad choice). But thing was, they wanted me to get to the camera and shoot it out, and well they couldn't take it out too early as it would recover soon enough, so while Jill was running to the other terminal I instantly started cycling for a Shield again and got it back in time every time. It can however defeat someone inexperienced with this build. I don't think it's a bad strategy of course, but MM can try to deal with it, wouldn't exactly call it a counter. RNG on the other hand is something that can be a problem, I lost to SWAT teams sometimes because RNG just wouldn't work with me, if they constantly pressure you to stop the deactivation of a Terminal your cycling is forcefully slowed down since you need to shoot the firearms, thus increasing the RNG factor. The biggest counter to this build is stacking USB equipment, USB 3 + Baton is a challenge but if you add USB 2 on top of it like the Sam did it is nearly impossible to defend the terminals for a decent amount of time (but since such extreme stacking basically ruins a build not many will be using it). A secondary counter is Jan with Interference, and I guess with Lockdown Personal Skill combined with taking out the camera early like that team above did. A minor hindrance is Martin, with Signal Jammer he can make it harder to place Crawlers down quickly depending on the Camera's field of vision, and D. Field. This made me think actually, Refract D. Field may be better if it can bypass Martin's Signal Jammer, but that is very situational, not many Martins use Signal Jammer. Body blocking can at certain occasions work but experienced MMs will find ways around it, can still work if they are under pressure I guess. Well, I ended up rambling about a bunch of aspects that can make it harder using this build, I think it's good info so I'll post it anyway.

6:03 This tripple USB build wasn’t meant to counter you or any other player specifically, but really any kind of area 2 "bottleneck" builds, like instant trap Alex and Nicholai, that have taken over this game. Since USB equipment costs almost nothing, you really don’t "ruin" anything for Sam. Any other character would really struggle by using 3 equipment slots just for USB drives. Except Sam, because he sucks in every single area and the only thing he offers to the team is very high sledgehammer damage output. Virtually any character in this game can deliver damage. Without extensive equipment, Sam’s damage output becomes average at worst.

The point remains though, instead of investing into anything else he went full USB. Considering I fought this person earlier and he did not have full USB equipment I am 99% sure he equipped it to counter me. Yes, it is useful for other MMs too but don't you think FULL USB is very overkill? Note: Full USB isn't 3 but 4 slots, Baton is also an equipment. I can't say for certainty if it was full or it lacked 1 USB but it was way faster than just USB 3 + Baton.

@@NickGostone "Full USB isn't 3 but 4 slots" - that particular Sam build was 3 slots for USB, not 4. Level 1 equipment is a total waste, you didn’t even notice any difference. USB level 1 reduces the terminal deactivation speed by only about 20 frames.

@@550077 Well, I am guessing for you to know that it means either you were the Sam or you are a friend? If he did not use USB 1 but something else then that was definitely the wiser choice, even then though you basically use 8 points out of 20 for USB (and Shoulder Pad 1) and have 12 points to invest on just 1 slot. It's a waste and the reasonable combination would be just USB 3 + Baton.
