I am glad you got out of academia, Sally! I was raised in Princeton, and am thankful I was led to settle in Kentucky! You are right, life in the real world instead of Ivy League smug intelligencia is so refreshing! Thank you so much for having the courage to really help us and start this grass roots awareness💕. God Bless…

Thank you, Thank you. Love this podcast. I lived as a Vegan for over 14 years and just been trying low oxalates for the last 10 months. Hindsight has shown me that I’ve had a oxalate issue since birth. At 66 years old now, I’m hoping I have enough time left to find my best health and feel it. So grateful!!

I was born oxalate toxic to a Mother that had her right kidney removed before I was 1 year old due to a grapefruit sized kidney stone. I was introduced to Sally and low oxalate diet at age 62. I’ve been low oxalate for almost 2 years now. My journey has had some severe oxalate dumping symptoms with periods of amazing health for the first time in my life. I’m hopeful to live many more years with health and energy and playfulness with my grandsons that I didn’t have with my own sons. My sons were both born oxalate toxic and they have learned better health through carnivore diet from Joe Rogan and Jordon Peterson. We are all still tweaking our diets to gain our best selves.

I relate with sallys garden. Spent weeks scraping and sifting rocky topsoil off the side of my hillside. Then 2 years composting food scraps, ashes, and wood chips. Spent weeks building a big beautiful raised rock garden that extends off my hillside JUST to grow sweet potatoes. Was the most fertile chem free soil ever. Now after 3 yrs of eating sweet potatoes daily, i got wrecked with dumping lol Maybe i can convert it to a butternut squash patch 🧐

I never had dental plaque prior to going carnivore as I never ate sugars as a rule but I couldn't figure out why I got plaque afterwards. Amazing thank you so much.

Thank you for this interview. I liked that you talked about the psycho-social side of our diet. We really eat a lot of food because we are told to. I see how my 3 year old nephew wants to grab the kinda ‘paleo’ foods but the parents wants him to basically eat sugar grapes all day, BECAUSE FRUIT IS HEALTHY RIGHT? I can already see diabetic traits and some oxalate poisoning 😢

I thoroughly enjoy listening to your content, and it just reenforces things I've discovered with years of reading and learning about nutrition. I feel and perform my best on primarily carnivore. I eat 12 eggs and a couple pounds of fatty meat every day between 2-6pm. Coffee is my one guilty pleasure, but just enjoy it so much in the quiet mornings as the sun comes up. The only thing that concerns me a bit is what I learned from Dr.Sabine Hazan of Progenabiome. Strong, diverse gut microbiome are crucially important for health, namely bifidobacteria, which really like to feed on soluble fiber and need some sugar for fermentation. The colon, where bifido resides, is supposed to be free of oxygen and should be acidic. As it turns out, bifidobacteria is the key to crushing covid. We have a lot of it when we're young, but lose it as we age, which is why covid (and other illnesses) affect older people more, but kids have very resilient immune systems.

Thanks so much for your feedback and insight. Yes - I too continually question what I think I know about the microbiome. It’s so interesting. I’ve become increasingly convinced that quantum biology has more answers. I’m fascinated by light’s influence on the diversity of the microbiome as well as quantum strategies for gut, immune and mitochondrial health. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Isn’t winter the reason for food preservation? Not everyone lives in the tropics. How many crops can one harvest in the winter? Not arguing but trying to reason.
@DrKelliRitter
@DrKelliRitter 6 ай бұрын
Yes! That’s kind of the point Sally makes about winter. I won’t speak for Sally, but I advocate for a seasonal approach to eating. Totally fine to utilize traditional fermenting and canning methods ~ the point is that many people do not realize the harmful effects of not only eating out of season but also consuming loads of anti-nutrients.
