I love to do exit interviews. I keep notes on what management has done or not done. I have gone to HR and they usually do nothing. So, I take my noted and when I quit, I give the 2 weeks notice and get called in by management and HR and then I just lay it all out. The last time I did this was at my current job, yep I'm still there. Anyways, I put in my notice and spend 2 hours with management and another 2 hours with HR. HR asks me to hold off quitting so they can look into it. I tell them they have until my notice is fulfilled. 2 days later they get back to me and offer me an 8/hr raise. I yell them it's not about the money really. It's about management. So they move the offending manager to another shift and give me the raise. I'm still here.

Exit interview: - Why do you leave? - I don't think it matters if I tell you. - But you can tell me. - I just told you. - I don't get it. - I know. ... ... - Could you explain it to me? - Whatever I tell to mgmt or to the HR is ignored and there are no consequences, just makes me look bad, and I got extra workload because of it, and not getting bonuses because of it, so there is no point to trying making anything better in this company. Do you get it now why there is no point to tell you what is not working in this company? - I think there is a lot more tention in what you just said to me and it is not unfolded. You have problems. - Thank you for the reinforcement! Exactly that is what I just said, and it will never change. You know what. I got two other reasons to leave this company. ... ... - Would you tell me about these? - Sure. First: I cannot not allow myself to not use my skillets and potential in a workplace, so therefore I have to leave. Second: I got a offer and I accepted it and my given word has values. - O. K. - O. K. - If you have something specific, we can talk about this later. - Only if you would pay me the fee of a consultant on the topic how to manage this workplace, we can have a contract and I can give you an analysis. My current wage is 40% below the market average and 300% less than a consultant expert wage. But you know that. - uhh... we pay the market average... - Are you sure? With all the respect, let me say this: I would update that data if I were in your position, which I'm not. - OK so you are not interested in giving me useful feedback on this exit interview. - That is how you interpret this. I will send you an email that states: "as an employee, Im ignored from hr and mgmt". You can discuss it with others whenever you want. Are we done here? ... ...

I laid out a long list of his errors, his retaliatory behavior and toxic petty power trips. My best friend since childhood (25 years) was murdered, and I took three days off to help with funeral arrangements. I was the manager of a small independent finance company (the best job I ever had), and there were two older ladies with whom I had a lot of direct contact who would talk about Jesus behind his back. The owner, a good friend, told me they resented my taking time off. I told him I would confront them, and he agreed. One of them had just got back from a funeral in New York. I confronted them about it, and all they could do was sit there with "not me" deer in the headlights and look on their faces. Of course, they ran to the owner and got no sympathy. It was glorious.

One thing that can be improved upon is that when someone is getting surgery use their PPTO or PTO don't give them points. Same with vomiting at work. I have 80 hours of PPTO & PTO but instead they give me 4 points (5 & you're fired) instead of using my 80 hours and it is for surgery, recup & sick one day. And now I have 95 hours😅😅😅. Plus I always work half an hour to two hours every night over time. When will Walmart actually research what they are doing wrong. It's not the employees it's management. Oh I am not quiting because companies will never learn. All I can do is be a team player & try to help the forever new management. Sorry for my separate posts, but I forgot to say those two black people were the same people for most of my 18 years with the company.

Ok I hear you & if I REALLY can’t persuade you to stay & help me work it out from the inside, really really 😢??? Then, I’ve a proposition for you: Whilst you’re looking for another position, (which we will help you with, whether you accept this proposal or not, because, after all, this bad situation is totally down to us; bad management; you’re totally right), until you find that more appreciative employer, would you like to work with us as a consultant? From home, we’d supply a work station, you’d be a management consultant. We value what you’ve told us today and we see MORE value yet in your assistance improving this organisation. Please, take time to think, take advice, come back with your proposal and daily rate, and please accept our profound apology for allowing this situation!

As soon as I got a new job, I would've been out of there without even giving notice. So when they call me at my new job, I'd be like, "Didn't you get the memo?"

"I'm sorry that there's not more that we could have done" is so diengenuous. There is always more that could have been done. That's just an unwillingness to take accountability

Oh, there absolutely _was_ more that you could have done. You just didn't.

My boss chewed out HR, so I got a lot of nasty looks my last two weeks, not that either they or her offered me a thing to stay. I got lots of compliments from whichever department I worked in for my entire time there, I think they were actually thanking me for being such a sucker.

"I'm sorry we couldn't do more to keep you-" YEAH no, that's entirely the fucking point. you COULD have done more. you absolutely could have done a FUCKING LOT more but you didn't because you knew you didn't care. You knew your company didn't care, you didn't care, and that's literally how you make money by treating your employees like garbage and not caring so don't you dare ever tell me you're sorry, when your actions have shown me that you do not fucking care.

All good, but people do leave because of money. If the companies do not pay their employees fairly they can also leave.
