Head turning looks and a delight to be aboard. The Toy 51 by Toy Marina in Savona, Italy is a luxury niche builder making small volume, high quality boats for a seriously exclusive club of owners. These boats gave me the impression of cool classic styling mixed with modern tech and clean interior lines.
This is a boat that makes you feel fantastic when you are onboard. The looks it generates are looks of appreciation and the feeling while underway is smooth and refined.
This has to be one of the highlights of my European trip so far this year and for those of you watching in Australia you will also have the opportunity to experience Toy Marina as they are coming to Australia! Compare this brand with Palm Beach Motor Yachts, Hinckley and Sabre Yachts. It's just a wonderful piece of kit.

Classic line is never getting old! They haven't built so many Toy Marine boats, the way they are manteinig their price on second hand market is stunning..average of 400/500k for a 36' and 900k for a 51'...can't imagine a brand new model..price maybe double!

Only captains seat looks foward while underway? Kinda sucks when out in snotty weather for guests They will be sea sick quickly. Also any enclosure for cockpit area? for those knot so nice days out

Yes I believe the intended purpose is primarily as a sunny day pleasure boat but yes I did see enclosures on other boats at the factory

You obviously are quite with the aesthetics of this boat, Dan. Which is a little challenging to fully display via video. Craftsmanship appears to be marvelous. For the SE U.S. and E coast of Oz, the entire back end of the boat would need to be redesigned with UV in mind. But then that appears to be part of what Toy is able to offer. Sleek & slick IMO.

I love the lobster boat design and this one seems to be elegant in her minimal style. I hope you will test a Zeelander yacht one day that is the best shipyard for this kind of boat.

Totally understand this is only going to appeal to a small group of guys for sure. Many of them are being used as tenders in Europe but also stand alone day boats and weekenders

Drive past the commercial port on starboard , then a castle and a villa and go around the big rocks and that’s where we were 👍… you can’t miss the little beach town because the buildings are colourful

Excellent review as always. Interior of boat is nice, not sure about external appearance though. Large front chine combined with small/low cockpit appearance makes its proportions off to me. Prefer Palm Beach or Hinckley. Sorry

So I understand some of their owners have set their boats up for more fishing/water sports. It’s basically a custom build so you do what you want as long as it’s beautiful and stylish. I don’t think they would anything that detracts from the looks of the boat.

Ahhh Dan i want to like this boat, just not laid out that well. White helm? Hmmm can't say i'm a fan, Aussie glare would kill ya! Agree, the med style layout not great for Sydney, need rear seeing with a table. I could be wrong, but that front window brow looks low, and with a non adjustable helm seat, I see issues for average to tall capts, one piece windscreen would have a lot better! No bow rail, issues with that and not forward sunpads for guests, missed opportunity. I think the crew cabin is a waste and disappointed to see the master forward and not mid-ship, everyone hates hull slap! Overall I like the style of boat, but it's been fitted out in what looks like cheap materials, and a very euro focus, not for the international market.

So the layout can change. It’s a stick build internally so my understanding it that each boat is basically custom to each owners needs. I’ve been invited back to check out their other models which I’ll be doing as soon as I get a chance and I’ll post what I learn. Aldo who is one of the founders was the team manager for Team NZ Americas Cup. Knows his stuff with a vast sailing background.

Correct, I haven't got any experience with the Zeelanders yet but hope to one day so I can comment with accuracy on that. Re price it's best to follow the link to the factory as it depends on where you are and how you option the boat

This design is obviously aimed at Italian boating but I feel the styling is definitely in the same bandwidth. I know they are different boats but can definitely compare. I’ll have to test some Palm Beach Motor Yachts and post what I learn.

@@captcav767Totally agree. "Toy" says it all. Weighs 50% more than the PB45 which is same LOA. PBs have sailed to and from NZ to Aus on their own bottoms. Would not even dream of that in this dayboat.
