This toy hauler garage office modification is one we've been wanting to do for several months now, and the time was finally right! The basis of this garage office modification in our grand design toy hauler is very simple. Unbolt the Happijac benches and put a desk in their place. This mod is a huge plus in our full time RV life!

A small piece of cove molding maybe 1/4” around the edge of the desk would keep things from rolling off. Just a suggestion but a great job you guys did

Ok, I’m a recent subscriber because I also have a larger rig with an older toy hauler so I was interested in your adventures. I follow a few similar sites over the years but don’t usually have much to say. That said, the office mod, let’s call it the “Changing Lanes upgrade” is the most innovative thing I have seen in a while. Great job! I will be applying this to my new rig. Thank you so much for taking the time to post this.

Pro Tip: Take the time to draw up your space in a CAD type program (Sketchup is free to use and not cloud based). The more exacting the better. I've got my entire property done up in sketchup here, down to all the under ground pipes and wires. If I've got a wild idea, wither it's a new addition to just moving some furniture around, I just open sketchup and design/try it out. And because my model is so exact and accurate, I know if it'll work, or exactly what lumber I need. Check our Sketchup's 3D Warehouse (which is drawings uploaded by users) to see what's possible, and in some cases, things you can use in your own model. 2nd Pro Tip: Download Team Viewer if you already haven't. That way you'll be able to help Tara with something on her PC without ever getting up from your's, or access either PC, screen and all, from your phone if need be.

As we're shopping for a full time coach and informing my boss... my WIFE I meant to say, that I can fabricate this way in the garage to keep what I want to go into the garage. NOoooo She said. She wants a bunk damn room!!! I can't wait till that shit head gets in here to show her this! Very very nice job and info about the 2x2's especially. I didn't think about that part. I just found you guys and the way you and the boss of yours get along a bit like mine and I. Sometimes I just can't get her to shut the hell up, reminding me what an ass I'm being at a given time!!!!! (33 years and it's a playful norm)

If you didn't have the need for traveling with your motorcycle, would you still have purchased a toy hauler and converted the garage into an office or gone with a fifth wheel that included dedicated office room? I'm struggling with the idea of having two offices in one space and battle of the conference calls!
