Hey Dan, I sculpted that Harry Potter Slime pit for Mattel when I was working at SOTA Toys years ago. The thing about that is that they took out the cool snake that I sculpted that swings around from the back to capture the victims, kinda like the skeleton claw that grabs the guys from the original Horde Slime Pit . The reason for it is that it wouldn't fit in the box with it on or just simply cost reduction.

I'm glad you mentioned modern toys being at these retro toy shows. This is why we can't find stuff at the store that we really want. I don't think it's all because NECA and Hasbro doesn't stock the shelves properly. It's because a lot of people in these shows buy up everything and try to resell them at the show for extream mark-ups. KZbin has made collecting toys extremely frustrating. But watching your videos are extremely entertaining.

Kane county was great this year! I found some great boargames and (a real surprise to me) Outer Space Men. The show was lighter on Adventure People than I had hoped. Kalamazoo Toy show in a couple weeks, more hunting to be had!

The bottom is going to drop out of the vintage toy market. Assisted by the pandemic and the new versions of old favorites. People will see a complete he-man with sloppy legs for$90 or a new in the box with 90 points of articulation for $20. I'm even thinking about selling some of my easy to liquidate stuff to free up capital to complete some of the more obscure lines I collect.

Dan use your videos to help put a stop to the scalpers of newer toys. I get that's how the markets go but the toy community needs a voice they trust to help bring prices to something realistic

The only way to defeat scalpers is to just not buy from them. Once everybody gets on board with that you'll see prices drop. It's ridiculous seeing at least a 100 of the same new GI Joe figure, as an example, on ebay for around $100. Just don't pay it, find something else to purchase and enjoy.
