Regarding the Senor del destino artwork. I could be wrong, but I think somewhere under all the doctoring is art originally from the Star Wars Newspaper Comic Strip. It has that look about it.

"Signore del Destino" is actually Italian, NOT Spanish. It literally translates to "Lord of Fate". 😄 No doubt this was an Italian line of bargain "action" figures trying to ride the wave of popularity of a certain series of movies, now owned by a mouse. 😉

The Vader artwork has an Archie Goodwin vibe from the early Star Wars comics by Marvel. Pretty sure he never drew him with a sticker of the Moon on his chest, though. Love the videos and congrats on the growing subscribers.

I was going to mention the same thing. I think it's from the original Star Wars comic adaption, I have the giant sized thing somewhere... It has that look though, fairly certain it's one of the Marvel Comics though. Good call!

Archie Goodwin was the writer and editor on those Star Wars comics. The artwork looks like it's a take on Carmine infantino, who was drawing the book at the time.

Knock-offs were my favorite as a kid, even more (usually) than the actual toys they were inspired by. Most were up from Mexico and further South. And they let me have figures not a lot of others had (they were snobby about that I guess). And best of all, if it was a superhero and clear which on they were based on I could pretend they were a parallel Earth double.

Definite highlights here for myself are Galactic Tyrant and the Darth Vader knock-off. Did a double take to see Dolly Girl about town was from BOYES. This is a UK based store chain in the Yorkshire region. I used to go to the Holderness road, Hull branch as a child. I remember the cheap toys which where a mix of Knock off and imported. I remember the Fly doll. I also remember my dad buying me 2 shogun warrior figures. One of the craziest things about this shop, is that it had an aviary at the back. Not selling birds, just to look at for fun.

Mattel released some 12" Battlestar Galactica figures, a cylon and a colonial warrior. These aren't knock-offs, but they do look like quickly recycled figures from something else. What were they in their pre-BSG life?
