Being a fellow iaidoka here in the United states in Connecticut. I have practiced tayama ryu. Very well done. It brings back memories of an old sensei i can no longer find. Thanks for this video.

I wonder what the Philosophy behind the strokes are I’m a fellow practitioner however I know whenever we practice our kata we are tight to allow less opportunity of attack is there a philosophy or mentality for the broad swings?

Hi, I practice Toyama Ryu in Poland. Are those cuts so deeply from behind an integral element of Yamaguchi ha katas?
@ossu.entertainment57619 жыл бұрын
Yes they are! We concentrate on a big enkeisen trajectory and accelerating the kissaki mostly to the point of impact... litteraly Kirioroshi... meaning Cutting-Falling! Thank you for your Question! Toyama Ryu Battodo is very interesting, and I like tring myself at the kata sometimes... I am stying currently in Japan again, for further study! Cheers

Thank You very much for the answer. Another one... Are there any kumitachi forms, other than basic Toyama Ryu, in Yamaguchi ha curriculum?
@MarcusMaximus659 жыл бұрын
And more questions.. :) Do You practice in any official Yamaguchi ha school? Have You ever heard about Yamaguchi ha style schools in Europe? Do You practice tameshigiri? If I understand properly... are You godan master?
