I love this set, it's so emblematic of ToyBiz in general. "Need a blank muscular body? Use the Archangel mould and omit the wings! The head we're using doesn't quite work? Ehhh, glue it on! The figure's got a gimmick that doesn't fit with the character? Whatever, leave it in!"

Buff88 did you live close to a BJ’s or acquire it later. I’ve always wanted to meet someone else who actually got it from the store. There were so many left on the shelves when I got mine, I always wonder where they all went (ebay🤣)

The kaine is really cool. Great to see other characters like scarlet spider and spidercide made with bits of older characters. They're essentially licenced mods 😂🕸️

Ahhhh, the days where you could get 8 high quality figures for $25. My neighbor has little kids and I saw the current figures they were playing with and they’re literally just like chunks of plastic with no articulation or special features or anything, and they cost $40 for one.

These videos are great. I had more from that toy line than I realised. I guess I'm ireland you just got whatever you could wherever you could. I had the we shooter spiderman, the second venom, the first carnage, the lizard kingpin, hydro man and the octopus spiderman. I sold them all like a little business man when I was about 13. Which I kept them

Guess we never went to BJ's back then otherwise I would've had that X-Men set without question and probably that Spider-Man set too. Shame they didn't do Psylocke instead of Forge, Banshee or Wolverine though since all three of of them were already released in those outfits already. Forge was mostly the same except the original had brittle translucent plastic used for the right thigh and forearm and the gun was not removable. They used the tiger-striped toy for wolverine here giving him shoulder pauldrons and the "V" shaped boots. Banshee needed a new figure as his original was bad with the whistle sticking out of his chest and the flimsy thin paper like plastic wings. So I would've swapped Wolverine for Psylocke and just had an extra belt in the box to use for the retail version. I never seen these even at the travelling flea markets in New Jersey. They always had two or thee assholes there scalping figures. I never seen them at the small comic conventions that would pop up form time to time either.

"What's with this storyline?" WELL. Peter got married. And then they decided they hated it despite doing it in the first place. So someone said "Remember the weird storyline about Peter and Gwen getting cloned and the Peter clone died and the Gwen clone left New York? What if the clone lived, was the original, and most importantly not married?" despite the fact the issue right after the Original Clone Saga proves the original had one the fight. YEP! Isn't it amazing how every truly terrible Spider-Man storyline can be traced back to a desire to undo the marriage/return Peter to a "youthful" status quo despite him never actually having that status quo?
