The main goal of the Indev house wasn't to give a quick boost to the players, but rather to help the developers and players play the game properly, as it was the earliest versions where survival was just being worked out on, and there wasn't even a way to get most resources at all, be it for testing or playing.

Hi Toycat, some structures are also uniquely exciting for technical players because of the structure spawns. Witch huts and pillager outposts both are very exciting for witch farms and raid farms. Nether fortress farms are also pretty great, though it takes a lot of exploration to find a good one over a lava lake (or a ton of spawn proofing)

I feel like some structures (especially the igloo) should have written books that explain some of the more obscure game mechanics to new players. Sure, it sounds more boring than learning them through gameplay, but some things are so complicated that there's no way anyone could figure them out.

If you want the desert wells to have a purpose, consider this: I think Hard mode should be altered to include thirst, with the following properties: 1, add wooden bucket with 3 planks and a stick. It can hold / carry water, but not lava. 2, Add thirst that acts like hunger. When your thirst maxes, you start taking damage. 3, water found (outside of structures) is biome specific. Namely: 3a swamp water will always make you sick 3b ocean water makes you thirstier 3c mountain water is always good 3d water in deep caves is always good 3e all other biome, water has a chance of making you sick 4 water in wells (like village wells, or the desert well) is always good to drink 5 smelting water makes it drinkable 6 thirst increases depending on the biome (highest in desert and ocean, lowest in swamp or river)

Okay, if we are going to update the desert well, past suspicious sand and archeology, I think having a source for the water in the well, even though it's already got an infinite source, would be interesting. Digging out a certain block, traveling down the water to a small room that has a really different type of loot chest. Perhaps, dare I say, 1 netherite scrap every 5th well explored?! A village bell, or other item you can't create but have to trade for.

Please elaborate. I haven't played in a couple years so I'm not familiar with the Ancient Cities.
@jenv.7995
@jenv.7995 Жыл бұрын
@@johnphoenix1175 as you may or may not know, the ancient cities are the most difficult challenge mojang has added in the las couple of years. This is despite the fact that normal hostile mobs don't spawn in there. The citie is a massive laberynth of ruins where you explore in the look for chests and treasure, being completely alone, but in constant fear of that changing, for the citie is consumed by the sculk, a living form which thrives upon the death of everything else, and if you make too much noise, it will send it's guard dog to hunt you; the warden, a powerful mob equiparable to boss level fights, it's attacks bypass armor and go through walls, so its imposible to fight or hide, once it's out, you better run or prepare to die. So you go on this great, awesome, dangerous and exciting treasure hunt on an enormous structure with the absolute best loot in the overworld, and when you reach the peak of the city: it's centre, a massive portal-like building, you may think there is where the best of the best treasure is; after all, it's the final room of one of the hardest quests of the game, accesible only through great effort and by highly skilled and advanced players (or at least that is the intent), so you enter the building, and what's inside is... A room showing you how to do basic Redstone, some of it even being broken, which is, in my opinion, no extreamly dissapointing and out of place

one of my oldest minecraft memories is watching my brother play. he found one of those old villages with some houses having no doors and there wasn't any villagers. I remember telling him to get the door and put it on another house that he had. it was on a different world. I also had another one. it wasn't as old as my brothers because it had villagers. I was in creative mode but I didn't know what that was so I was still scared of mobs, I was probably just messing with the settings or something. so I went in one of the little houses at night because I was scared and I started building. later I had a whole house going across the village. I didn't know how to crouch so the village underneath was a mess. I remember bridging across the house making a huge mess. we had a "very old chair and we put it in some glass because it was "so old that if you sat on it, it would fall apart." we also had a hallway that we put a monster spawner in and a ghast egg so there was a lot of ghast in the village, we didn't destroy it because we thought the ghast inside was the one producing all of them and it would escape. we also never did anything do get rid of the ghasts... I had a garden roof with an enchanting table in the middle. I remember I was flying and didn't know how to get down so I left and rejoined the game. once when i was trying to master flying, I stopped for some reason and thought a horse stole it from me 🤣🤣 thats all I remember.
