That transformer, whether you want to call him skyfire or jetfire ( jetfire to me!) is the GOAT. My all time favorite toy maybe ever. It’s a Robotech Veritech design, that transforms in all 3 modes, AND it’s in the transformer line?!?!

I remember as a kid, getting G1 Jetfire. And in my mind....he was the same character in the cartoons. (The childs imagination) I also remember being slightly disappointed that he didn't look anything like the cartoon Skyfire! Thankfully.... Fanstoys, Takara, NewAge, and Magic square have provided us with a proper Skyfire 40yrs later.

I remember shredding that Jetfire box Christmas morning. It still makes me smile thinking about it. I have every piece intact like it was brand new still to this day except the box 🤣 one of the coolest presents Santa ever brought me 👍 I still have my original Optimus minus a box 🤣

I recently gave all my GI Joe and Transformers from the 80s and 90s to a local family with a bunch of kids and they LOVED them! I always thought I would have my own kids but that never happened, so I was glad they went to kids that would enjoy them as TOYS, not just sitting on shelves as artifacts of an age now near extinct. I still have many old Star Wars toys, but anymore I’m feeling the same way about those too. Especially now that Star Wars is damaged goods that store can’t even give away the product. It’s just so nice seeing those kids playing with the toys that brought me so much joy in my childhood.

Similar thing happened to my brother and I as kids. My dad knew a family whose kids outgrew their toys and they were passed on to us - toys from the 70s like Big Jim, Six Million Dollar Man, and the big GI Joes.

G1 Skyfire was the orignal design. When Hasbro purchase the Robotech, they changed the original design of Skyfire to Jetfire which is a design from Robotech Skull Leader.

Thats a 1985 jetfire cuz the 1984 version had the tatsutoku macross symbol on the wing still and it got fixed in the second run. same with the 1084 optimus. He had metal plates in his trailer and a grey roller, the second run took out the plates and roller is the more common blue version.

My dad had that Jetfire he bought for us to play; I’ve kept it but it’s far from complete and not in good shape. 6 kids ( me and my siblings)played with it and it shows. But still hold on to it to remember my dad.

The vac metal on the Silverhawks is still beautiful. My Jetfire is super minty too with the gun clip. Don't think my box is that good but the Transformer is just as white. Took me SO long to get one I was happy with. Stickers weren't even applied. Great video.

Some great toys there. I remember getting that voltron for Christmas and thinking it was a cheap transformer. Jetfire was way to white. I have my one in a glass case and he has some yellow.

As good as modern transformers are, there is certain something with G1 originals, sure.some look nothing like the comics/tv show and the scale was way out, but they just had that something that allowed kids to have fun, the 80s packaging adds to that

My brother and I had a great childhood as far as toys we didn't have everything but we had a lot. Sadly my parents didn't care for the toys after we grew up and I still don't know what happened to 90% of our toys. My dad decided to put them in the back shed in cardboard boxes which I don't understand why. So much stuff was ruined because of mice and other animals. I keep all my stuff now in plastic totes with tight lids.

You had me at the title - I have a focus Jetfire / Skyfire display for some time - I even have a professionally done Skyefire Purple Jetfire including Decals that is super super clean tight joints - My boxed Jetfire isn't as clean as the one in the video but It is complete with the clip - Always be hunting...

Jetfire is probably my favorite childhood Transformer. I remember the one I got as a kid from a flea market was missing a hand. It got lost with other toys in a fire, but I managed to track one down complete, with one of the styrofoam inserts, for $200 back in the 2000s, not sure exactly when. It was my most expensive Transformer. None of the combiners even cost that much. Of course, one of my favorites had to be the most expensive! And yeah, I prefer the Jetfire name and design over Skyfire from the cartoon. The cartoon design was changed because of the whole Robotech/Macross fiasco. Not sure why his name was changed, though!

Its an 85 jetfire, the 84 version has the macross symbol on the wing. Which obviously got removed due to copyright issues upon the re0release.

love dino riders, I still have quite a few including the T-Rex. While the ones you got are complete and in good physical condition the armor on the raptor and Triceratops had severe UV damage, the armor should be a light grey and not the weird tan color, sadly all to common for these toys, luckily they can be retro-brighted like old GI joes and stuff. absolutely love that toy line and the first 2 episodes at least were really good.

I had a pull back and release (i forget what there really called) knightrider dicast car as a kid it was the best hard wearing ,take a licking keep on ticking stunt car i ever owned it was awesome . Whenever it got beat up i just coloured over it with a marker pen or enamel paint

Would it? Just cause it’s listed on eBay doesn’t mean anything unless someone is willing to pay. There’s a lot of overpriced stuff on eBay. Jetfire is nothing special but a Bandai clone. Brand new in box Bandais sell for half the price. 400 is reasonable considering he’s selling to a business.
