500hp S13 Silvia Turbo and I have no spin in the wet on 225 Dunlop DZ03G Soft compound (very much a soft / wet compound). The Toyos 888's are a dry track tire. R888's will not be at useful temperature in the wet.

my PSSs do that in the wet. When you have even as low as 400 hp, if you treat the throttle like an on/off switch, you'll break them loose even on dry surface. In water, you have to baby it with ANY tire. Also, it seems like they're doing pretty well in the video, considering what they are.

Lethal love your channel my man. Just an update getting caught in a storm from Bowie, MD to Ocean City while driving my GT-R on the Rtriple8's it held like a champ cruising at 70mph on the freeway. It felt normal and didn't even feel any slip or slide on these tires. Definitely change my confidence level driving it in the rain for the best. I can definitely drive it rain or shine. Thanks

Driving home on the north bound 15 going through Escondido with my stock 1LE with the stock Good years. I hydroplaned at 50 MPH. It was a miracle or a gift from the big man upstairs that nothing was hit and I walked away without a scratch on me or my baby. They warn that they are a summer tire not to be driven in the rain but it is no joke. It doesn't take much to get under the 10 and 11"'s and lift it up. The thread is by no means low just not made for the rain. So PLEASE be safe and don't test the limits because there really isn't much to the limit of these tires.

Just done 200km on gravel for 4WD,s known for tyre punching. less than 2mm tread on 888’s at start.RWD, rear engine. Side ways were ever possible (every corner) and still 1mm tread left, Great fun tyres that can handle abuse providing you understand the limits of you car

I run Tokyo tq's and daily the car. They are fine under 55mph and if you aren't driving stupid. However heavy rain and its a nightmare. 45-55mph freeway speed, hydroplaning at any moment, praying there isn't a puddle while going around a curve. I say just avoid it if possible.

I have 335's R888 on all four corners, with 370+hp, drove it in the last storm out here in Cali, from Moreno Valley area ALL the way to Burbank...it was a challenge even WITH AWD. I have the all metal widebody Subaru that everyone loves to hate. It was like driving on ball bearings the whole time. I had moments where I thought I had traction, and I would give it the boot, only to find out that I was HORRIBLY wrong! But after a week of that kind of driving, I learned to control it alot better in wet weather with the R888's. (Read: I can not hydroplane out of control and die.)

Lethal, I have a 2017 50th anniversary Camaro. I would love to get larger tires on the car, I am sure anyone who owns a Camaro know the stock tires do not grip well at all. But I love the wheel that come on the 50th. So do you or does anyone on here know how much larger tire I an put on the stock rims, or does anyone know how to get my wheels in a wider size. You do not know what is scary until you have driven a light fwd car with bald tires in the middle of the worst rain storm California has had in years... I spun my trusty Beetle going 52pmh in the Highway!, I knew it was going to happen, so I had mentally prepared for it. My dumb ass wanted to stop, but decided not to... When I spun the car, I managed to keep it spinning in the highway, until I fell into a small ditch in the middle section that divides east and west, apparently I had hit a large puddle which I hydroplaned on top off.. It was either the ditch or a cement wall...

Any idiot knows not to give it full throttle when riding on semi-slicks in rainy weather. I have the Toyo R888 mounted on my Lotus Elise and it is an excellent tire in dry weather, and unstable in rainy weather and when the temperature is low. In fact, the manufacturer also writes on the label that sits on the tire when buying it as new
