I’m going to try this on a 2012 Camry in a few days. I originally put a used motor in it for roughly 5700 dollars. It lasted for 4 months or so. Now I have oil and coolant mixing together. It’ll be the biggest repair I’ve ever done. I’m hopping I can do it. With this video and rockauto parts website I can save some major bucks. If my vehicle operation is successful.

thank you so much , do you think I have to worry about bent pistons ? Bad bearings ? I see you weren’t to worried about that stuff . Have you tried to get the pistons all the way up or no ?

@Raygetplenty for a head gasket job there is no need to replace anything on the bottom end unless you had other issues before.

This car doesn’t have a power steering pump does it , how much harder do u think it is with a power steering pump. I’m probably going to have to take that pulley off as well ? Maybe ? I’ve worked on this area before but can’t remember how much the pump and pulley are in the way
@motorcarnut4 ай бұрын
Correct rav4 has electric steering. I have a video on a 2011 Camry that does have hydraulic power steering you might want to check out but I believe PS pump is located on the block so it’s not much different than without it.

@@motorcarnut thanks yea I’m going to asset it when I get back to the car. I think you’re right it’s off to the side , beside the belt part. Either way it has to be done .
