This is the best video I’ve watched for this procedure. I used this method to assemble and install my 6112/5160 combo on my FJ, but I remember having to loosen my a-arm cam bolts to do it( I also had a front sway bar at the time ). I removed my sway bar a few months ago and I love it. I’m about to swap front springs again, and found your video when I was looking to brush up on the whole procedure. I noticed that you never loosened the cam bolts when you made this video. Is that because you are also running without a sway bar? I really hope I can skip that step this time around. Thanks for the excellent video! Top notch work!

Great video. Just did this exact setup to my 5th gen. Loosened the LCA cam nuts to help get past the sway bar. The 700 King spring solved the bumper and winch wieght issue perfectly. Running smooth. Thanks.

awesome video! how is your frame so clean and look new😂

This was shortly after I used needle scalers, wire brushes, then rust reformer and paint on the whole thing. I am lucky to have a decent frame though.

Did you need to loosen the lower arm bolts to allow it to move down like that or was it forced down by the spring force?
@princediy56153 жыл бұрын
You may be able to force it down, but I'd suggest marking the cams, and then loosening the LCA bolts slightly to get more downward movement.

how does it drive without the sway bar?
@princediy5615Ай бұрын
@omegaman7241 great, has a tiny bit of sway on sharp highway turns... but otherwise I'm happy with it.

Can this be done on a 5th gen 4Runner?

With the correct shock/spring setup, yes.

It looks like the sway bar and links were also removed.

I don't run a front sway bar, not necessary with the 700# springs.

@@princediy5615 If I wasn't such a dummy I would've noticed the missing sway bar before attempting this. Had to replace the old shock/spring, bring it up, then take off the bar and continue. Great video however!
