Have ALWAYS been a Tacoma-guy, my Dad bought the very first in ‘95…& it eventually became mine when I turned 16 (my Dad still has it by the way). Fast Forward when I moved back to the islands in December 2019 with 2 kids in tow…& I knew I was better off with the Runner as a family vehicle (though it did break my heart initially). Man, was I in for a pleasant surprise when I found this 4Runner-community we have; it is truly an awesome thing (Tacoma-community is just as valid of course). Leading to my point, I stumbled on your videos back then “Hidden Features”…another backstory, my father left the islands in the 70’s to go to the University of Minnesota, and learned the game of football watching the Purple People Eater-Minnesota Vikings. So as a Islander-Viking fan…I HAD to watch the “Vikings Garage”. BIG fan, apologize for only subscribing now, but I have been watching over the past 2 years I believe. Love how, even though you work at a dealership, you still give off the DIY-vibe for sure. Everything I’ve done on my ‘19 Runner I’ve done on my own (sans installing the new wheels and tires, and leveling kit). Love the old school vibe of fixing your own car, definitely why Toyotas are so great. And YOU are a great beacon in this 4Runner community. Keep it up brother, congrats on everything that has come-and will come your way; I will be watching. Hafa Adai all the way from Saipan, CNMI.

ESP interested in understanding how to set simple things like auto off on lights up to setting up apple car play. The number of interior buttons is so many and intimidating. Like a plane cockpit!!!

Agreed! Been slowly blacking out the chrome on my ‘11 SR5. Took off the roof rails and coated them with bed liner spray paint. I ended up using it on my center console which was silver and it turned out really cool with that liner texture! You’re new 4Runner is looking great! I agree they should just come that way from the factory.

Great video! Absolutely the 4Runners should come with the black valance front/rear, at least the TRD versions. Any thoughts on the aftermarket valance vs OEM at half the price? Seems many available and folks seem to have good luck with those. For sure, take your time. I've got a story for you... I used to own a 2013 Mustang GT in Gotta Have it green. I had to remove the rear bumper to install the GT500 rear valance/exhaust. Took my time, laid that pretty bumper on a carpet out in my driveway. A gust of wind came through and lifted my bumper up and dragged it across my driveway... I was so pissed. Luckily I was able to have it re-painted to match, at a cost of course. Key take away.... weight those bumper covers down if you're outside! They can get picked up pretty easy. Really nice of your friend to send that cover to you!

@@VikingsGarage I did it! installed the front/rear black valance on my 1 week old 2024 ORP in underground. For the front, I did not remove the front bumper. I actually removed the radiator plastic trim up top which gave me access to the top tabs and accessed the bottom ones from underneath. I appreciated how easy it was to remove the plastic push pins. The rear I removed the bumper of course. Total time for front/rear was about an hour and 15 minutes. Anyways it looks much better not having the silver valances anymore. Appreciate the video tutorial once again! Definitely loving how simple these are to work on compared to many other vehicles I've worked on over the years.

I love it. I have the same 4runner and did similar modifications. I’m looking into a 2.5”front 1.5”rear dobinsons lift. Any thoughts on dobinsons? I live in the Midwest where winters are brutal. I’m concerned with corrosion and rust. Thank you. I appreciate the content you have put out.

Hi. You may have mentioned somewhere. Why did you sell the red wine ? I had a 2017 TRD OFF ROAD. I now have a 2021 TRD PRO both gray. They are so expensive. My 2017 would have been paid off. TRD PRO expensive. If I could go back I’m not sure I would have done it. Pro has leather moon roof fully loaded. I kind of miss simplicity. Cloth seats no moonroof but engine and transmission same. $38K sticker on 2017. $53K 2021. I don’t know if all the goodies are worth it. I love them but financially not sure. So curious as to why you upgraded. .? Thanks. Enjoy the new one.

Hey Viking I just purchased a used 2022 4Runner SR5, and you should show people that own these vehicles with the "Electronic Selector" how to put it into 4Lo, and then DAC, or ATRAC. I found out that you can not go directly into 4Lo? When you try going from a stop right into 4Lo you will get a Blinking indicator light on the dash, meaning it did not engage (Light must be solid, indicating engaged)! And if 4Lo is not engaged , DAC, or ATRAC will not engage! You must put it into 4Hi first, then stop, put it into Neutral (4Lo will not engage in Drive) then put it into 4Lo (Indicator light will go solid), and then DAC, or ATRAC will work! Quite confusing if you do not know the procedure!

First congratulations on your soon to be new ride!!👏🏻👏🏻 Those are some great mods you already have. In regards to the TRD intake ,yes it does dress up the engine bay a little but for the price. It’s not worth it in my opinion, not to mention then you would have to clean and oil the pricey air filter once a year. Versus grabbing a air filter from your local parts store down the street and be done with it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Great video and absolutely looks amazing.... but I will say...your a better man then me to pop all those plastic clips and snap in components off at 42 degrees. I would need a good 72 degree day to settle my nerves down. When I changed out my front valance I was able to do it in the car without taking the bumper cover off. It took me about 45 mins - there is a good KZbin video on how to do it, the title is "Toyota 4runner 5th gen valance removal with bumper on!" The hack is to reach over the top of cross support and remove the 13 clips.

The perfect spec is the 1GR-FE 21’ 4Runner TRD ORP w/ Predator Pkg. only thing I need to do is swap out the silver front/rear bumper cover for the black TRD Pro. Everything else is blacked out from the X~Package. God bless~

Looks amazing! But….the emblem cover on the steering wheel might not be the greatest idea. That might end up in your jugular or eye socket if the airbag goes off, like a plastic claymore if it shatters. Ps. Long time viewer, but just subscribed today!

I will explain on my next video, but… basically I’m not interested in a over complicated sway bar system. It’s expensive to repair and maintain. To gain a few inches of travel on each side. It’s a complete waste in my opinion.

I was able to do my front valance on my 2022 without removing the bumper but I had to take the rear bumper off for that one

It is very possible to put on the front valance with bumper on. I just did it 2 weeks ago on mine. All 13 clips 😉

4Runner is looking awesome. Love the AG. Quick question. my 4Runner started this kind of like jerking motion at 40mph. It feels like someone is pushing you forward and backward. Any recommendations? I only have 50k miles, tires are only 9months old, and it is CPO. Might need to take it to the dealership.

@@VikingsGarage All is good. So every month I put it in 4H and 4L per manual. Last weekend I did and when I took it out of 4H it felt like it didnt change smoothly. So this weekend I put it back in 4H and then changed again to 2H and it went away. Hopefully this is a one time event.

I managed to replace the front valence without taking off the bumper. As someone who did this…..TAKE OFF THE BUMPER!!!! It’s much easier and your hands will thank you
