Toyota Avalon Brake pad Change-Same for years 2013 to 2018
Brakes pads are the reason your car is able to stop. When you press on the brake pedal, the brake pads apply friction against a metal disc or drum that halts the vehicle. Because of this friction, brake pads wear down over time. Maintaining effective brake pads is important to avoiding very pricey repairs as well as unsafe driving conditions; this video shows how to change the brake pads.

One additional thing, first remove your brake fluid reservoir lid to allow piston to be pushed into caliper as fluid is also being pushed back into reservoir. Check to see that fluid is not over filling reservoir and spilling all over the engine compartment. Check as you do each caliper. If you forget and open the lid after you installed the pads you will be in for a nasty surprise.

This was a very well done video. I love the reuse of the old pad for the compression.

First, make sure to remove the brake fluid reservoir cap. I always replace the hardware and clean/grease the guide pins (silglide). Also, it's a good idea to take a small wire brush and clean the areas below the hardware. Then put some anti-seize on those cleaned areas. The rotor should be checked for hot spots, warping, and wear. Check the old brake pads and make sure that they are worn evenly. Outside of that it's a pretty simple procedure. Also, I generally bleed out the old fluid and add new fluid as I bleed the lines.

If you don’t have a C clamp take a long screwdriver and lever it. There’s a slot you can use to hold the tip. Put a few brake pads behind it and push.

Always take your caliper off make sure it's got new hardware on it and also put brake grease in the proper areas and also pull the pins and make sure that they are properly lubricated. If you have any questions ..... put some brake cleaner in there. And wash them out good and then re grease them with the proper Grease

Very helpful, I don't see the noise making pin on the brake pads. The pin scratches the disc rotor when the brake pads are low to let you know that you have to change them.

You forgot to take off the lid from your brake fluid cylinder. And also bleed the brakes when you are done.
@Flashback502
@Flashback502 3 ай бұрын
It's helpful to take the lid off, but you do not have to bleed your brakes if you didn't disconnect brake line from caliber. You do need to pump your brakes before you start driving. Please like subscribe and share.
