Avanza is a really reliable car, i had the first gen avanza (2004) until 2012, it had 400k km on it. not only reliable, if it break, you can replace the parts for cheap, if it's not cheap enough, you can buy fake parts for ever cheaper.

Avanza is a budget 7 seater Family Car.. focusing itself on moving families and leisure. Thus with the price and package given, 1.5 is adequate enough to suit that purpose. Most importantly, it's long lasting given the capabilities of the Toyota engine.

Why everyone bashing the 4 speed gear box? I personally don’t think a 4 speed is a problem giving the reliability and service cost is cheaper for this price range car. I kinda want to know what uncle think about it.

This is a workhorse, and is supposed to be affordable. I think the designers met their objectives. Cheap to buy, easy to use, who could ask for more. Most people bitch about this and that not being there, but when it comes to paying, everybody just shuts up. I like fast cars, but i have an Avanza parked in my house.

Patut facelift tambah airbag.. pstu keyless entry dan push start button.. design luar dah smart.. (simple is smart).. dah ada tv kt bwh aircond.. ada blind spot monitor.. dash cam.. reverse camera.. well perfect for family.. oh if u want cheaper for family NEW CAR, choose alza.. but for me PERODUA ARUZ vs TOYOTA AVANZA, err.. i thnik i take avanza..^^

4speed AT, still more reliable than cvt. timing chain. rear wheel dive. would be better if they opted for 5lugs instead of the usual 4lugs (more reliable for 7seater) EBS+ABS ✔️ all other additionals are just for aesthetis. this car could definitely carry you from point A to point B, just not that comfortably, inside cabin noise is manageable 😅

Very good observations. I think the vehicle is light enough to survive on 4 lug wheels. These are 114.3 PCD.

Sorry I didn't - it is okay for small adults only, but surprisingly, it is quite comfortable, because the seats are higher off the ground. Always best to go to the showroom if you want to buy one. Or you can buy one online through us. I owned an Avanza for 15 years.

Main difference would be the wheels. Aruz is the same as Rush, except for a few spec differences. The Avanza is MPV, while Rush and Aruz are classified as SUV.

The Avanza is the best. Even the Rush and Aruz are not the same as the vehicle height is increased for better ground clearance. You can try other vehicles using the same principle. Note that taller people can have a higher hip point.

Some Toyota salesmen think they are selling luxury cars. Judging walk-in customers based on looks and acting halfheartedly when asked for test drive. I was accompanying my father to look at the Hilux, both of us wearing casually with short pants and flip flops (it was on weekend). The only salesman there seem didn't want to approach us, only doing so when we called for him to ask about some details. When we asked for a test drive, we were given excuse of only interested customers can test drive, no test drive for fun. I was getting furious at his attitude but my father just replied "Like that ah? OK lah" and we left. Went to Ford, Isuzu and Mitsubishi after that and we didn't get treated like that. In the end, dad decided getting the Triton.

And like what YS said, as the Avanza is a utilitarian MPV (provided in the beginning it was meant to be the successor of the Kijang Kapsul), buyers wouldn't care of how the interior design is. Rather would consumers pay more attention to the practicality and space that it can offer.

Rear drum brake is such a stupid thing to have in a car this size with 7 seats, in 2019. Toyota msia is really bloody cheapskate. Also only 2 airbags is a joke imo. And we consumers are also guilty of not pushing the manufacturers enough to fit such important thing.. Stop letting them rest on their laurel by keep telling how reliable yada yada and actually give some harsh comments/feedbacks too once in a while.
