Man I need to get my AW11 back on the road... I _will_, have just had way too many projects taking my time. The screaming N/A 4AGE really might be the best sounding engine I've ever heard. And I've always really loved the fact that you actually get to enjoy it a lot in the MR2 the way you need to wind up every gear to make the most of it. It's a really engaging drive and one that you actually get to legally enjoy on normal roads.

Great video thanks, reminds me so much of all the things that I loved about my 1985 NA AW11. Two things, I really hope that they get the Tach sorted out, and it looks like the coil-overs have made the car too stiff for public roads. One of the great things about the early stock suspension, is that it kept the wheels on the road at all times, which meant that even on roads that were a little rough or had sudden camber changes you could always drive the car through the corner, no skipping, no sudden changes in grip, just smooth consistent traction regardless of the surface or changes in road geometry. I think that this car may have lost some of that forgiving characteristic. Great video, looking forward to going back to see the rebuild, I love these cars.

The AW11 SC is another 250lb heavier than the redtop variant of that year. Mostly due to the e153 transmission and half shafts. Thems chonky! The induction system is ~40lb. Rest is standard. Have a SC swap looking to 20V it now. Beauty of a build this one!

This is proof of why the car world is so reluctant to electric cars. Sound is just as important to speed to many. Perhaps when they make an electric motor that sounds like thunder or a Tesla coil it will garner more interest from enthusiasts.

I don't know about that. 40-60 in second gear is stupid fun though. I think they were 8 seconds 0 to 60 IIRC. I'm sure a Skyline would've demolished an AW11.
