this mpg seems really bad tbh. even for city driving. did you drive it hard?

Hi, Thanks for taking a look at my video. I didn't drive the car hard, in fact quite the opposite. The low mpg was due to the low average speed. You will have seen in the video that this was just 13mph. Not reflecting a low travel speed but instead due to a lot of idling in cold weather and driving in congested city locations. Also, I always run car air conditioning systems all the time and this does affect mpg, even in cold weather as this helps keep the screens free from misting and the systems free from build up of smells. Incidentally, the last car I owned got just 25mpg on a run which puts this in perspective. But it did have a 4 litre engine.

Hi Nini, Thanks for taking a look at my video and your comment. I am no expert on all the idiosyncrasies of the various Aygo models and trim levels but it is common on a lot of makes that SatNav was an extra that had to be specified by the first buyer of the car. In some cases SatNav can be retrofitted but this would likely be expensive so most opt for using a TomTom type device or their Smartphone. Hope this helps, Vince

Hi there! Very nice video. I have a question and I know its kind of an old video but hopefully you can answer me. Okay so I need this car mainly for city driving on a daily basis, but I was wondering if you think I could drive short travels (around 60-70 km) through highway that's sort of inclined up (I'd say a 10-15%, nothing crazy). Hi dangomez, Thanks for watching my 'very old video' and your comment. The video is still popular today as it is will always be relevant even if the model itself gets older. The car should be ideally suited to the type of driving you describe as it is a modern car with a suitably sized motor for its overall weight. Good luck in finding yourself a suitable car. And at least you will be able to go back down the inclines efficiently as well. Vince

The Aygo does not have a CVT ( Constant Velocity ) auto gearbox.In fact it is an automated manual gearbox with motors effecting gear changes & the opening & closing of the clutch.This is the "Easy" gearbox .

Hi Beth, Thank you for looking at my video I hope it helped you understand some of your car's features. In the video I ran through the central LCD digital display options and you will have seen there was no digital speed option. I do not believe it was a feature on this model, probably because it does not feature cruise control functions. I have driven many cars with digital speedometer displays and nowadays much prefer this to a swinging analogue needle that takes a fraction longer to interpret given our need to be so precise on today's camera obsessed roads. Also there is no digital tyre pressure readout so you need to use traditional methods of checking your tyre pressures. Either via a pen type pressure gauge or the readings shown on a good quality tyre pump with a gauge or maybe the service station readouts which now seem more trustworthy than in the past. Notwithstanding these useful but not included functions the car is well specced for its category and price level so you should be pleased to have chosen well. Happy, safe driving. Vince

Hi Gaz, Thanks for taking a look at my video. Sadly the car's digital display didn't include a helpful speed display either within the dashboard or even as part of the Navigation map display. Nowadays I find with the need to constantly check speeds in urban areas due to the proliferation of cameras I missed this facility on the Aygo. I guess I am becoming less used to quickly determining precise speed with analogue sweeping dials. Also there was no cruise control function which greatly assists in cities and on variable speed regulated main roads and motorways. Speed limitation is usually bundled with cruise control functions so this Aygo lacks this. Hope this helps, Vince

Hi Luke, Thanks for watching my video and your question. As you will have seen there was no Apple Play [or any Android alternative] on my car. Later models may have now incorporated this increasingly popular option but I am not sure. Taking a look at Toyota's over stylised yet strangely uninformative website it looks like they do now offer this functionality but you will need to check with a dealer to find out for sure. It was usually left in Neutral, or rather just to the right in the Neutral plane. Then from there either straight back to go forward (E) or left towards the (N) and forward to go back (R). Neutral for me with a auto toyato Yaris 07 (don't get me started...on that!!) Push start ignition ..yet NO aux lead???..how annoying for my teenage daughters that have to bring along a Bluetooth speaker...oh and I can have one thing plugged into the lighter socket...so decisions, decisions dash cam on, if I want to catch an accident. ..or listen to music from this era 😂😂

The petrol cap will simply unscrew once the lockable filler cover is open, operated by a button to the right of the steering column at low level, as seen in the video. I have not had the chance to try a Kia Picanto so can only assess it on its size and specification. It was introduced as an entry level model just as Kia was starting to prove they can make good cars so I am sure it is very competent. However it was very much built to a price so check the specifications as the Aygo is likely to be better equipped. A 2015 model year Picanto would be the facelifted second generation model which improved on the looks of the first gen car and initial second gen release. There are a number of options such as a 3 cylinder 1 litre engine or a 4 cylinder 1.25 litre, manual or CVT automatic gearboxes and three or five door combinations. As with any car this age buy the best one you can afford from a reputable source. In conclusion I would recommend getting either the Toyota or Kia based on what you like yourself. Sit in them, ask for a test drive and see what your heart thinks. Vince
