In 2018 I was supplied with a new ascent hybrid for a country job posting. Did close to 10,000km in 4 months and came away mightily impressed with the driving dynamics, economy, space and comfort. I can only imagine that this model is even better.

@@JasonISF Outstanding car to drive, so happy with it. It's certainly next level from the 2013 model which was itself a great car to drive, but the 2021 model has all the new tech features.

I have a 2024 Camry, not with a brand-new look; it is similar to the 2023 look. I have driven it 28k since February 2024. My average fuel consumption is 4.8L/100km. I can consistently get 1000-1050 km on a full tank. I have driven a Peugeot, Mazda 6, Civic, Peugeot 308, Haval H6, and Kia Cerato Sport. Believe me when I say that none of these cars come even close to the comfort of the Toyota Camry hybrid, as you mentioned in your video; it is just like silk. Tried lots of sedan 🚗 and came back to my Fav Camry for good reason.

Had the 2020 hybrid and now the 2021 Camry Hybrid. They improved the steering assist. The trunk closes slowly now. Seats feel better. The dash shows the speed now. They made a lot of little improvments.

Can't agree more with your review and how awesome the new Camry drives after getting a white Demo 2020 ascent hybrid with only 1200km for $35k driveaway. Really felt like a massive improvement over older models I drove while working for the NSW government. The ease of ownership is second to none especially fuel and servicing costs. You drive for weeks without needing to refuel. Only thing I dislike is the cheapish steering wheel and tacky buttons but apart from that it looks phenomenal for a base model especially when it was in the showroom.

Great review. In this advanced technological era people forget to assess the real point of buying a car and that is ride quality. We often go with the looks and forget the main aspect of the car. I would rather choose a reliable comfy car over the looks.

That fuel consumption figure for highway is pretty darn good & the city figure is why people flock to these hybrids. Wish I was in a hybrid when I see 15l/100km driving around the city.

Any input on camry petrol (only comes in base spec), it has 60ltr fuel tank, full size spare plus automatic gearbox compare to d cvt tht comes on hybrid. I haven't found any reviews on the marginalised petrol. Can u plz review that model? I no it misses out on Dual zone climate control n Keyless start, it is $3k less than hybrid, it would tk 5 yrs to achieve breakeven to get $3k savings

Taxi Fleets love 'em. Even so. The Toyota is a top choice if one wants/needs a good daily, and still harbor that 'sedan' love and don't need or want an SUV... Also guess that the base petrol would be a great long termer for the older private buyer.

I drive a 2013 Hybrid Camry & love it so smooth & quite, effortless & relaxing with 245000ks and absolutely nil issues. The big bummer for me is that it can't tow more than 300kg's. What is this new one rated at for towing? Please tell me it's 12 - 1500kgs!

The main thing that gets me about this latest Camry is that it sits too close to the ground (poor ground clearance and harder to get in and out of) and that it has a 95 RON petrol requirement (extra $ which detracts from the reason for getting a hybrid in the first place = economy)

The Camry hybrid is rated for e10 fuel and runs really well on it. No need to put more expensive 95RON petrol in the tank.

@@MrBenHaynes Now that I have my Camry I actually put RON98 into it as it runs smoother and ignites well. When the motor stops and starts with the hybrid battery, you need a fuel that ignites seamlessly. I don't mind paying the extra because I get the discounted fuel from Costco and find that I only have to fill it up only once a month and am getting over 500 miles ((800 klms) per tank approx.

Great review, although I prefer the ascent steering wheel to the leather because 1. The leather steering wheel tends to dry my already dry hands, and 2. Because now cow suffered for my steering wheel😊

I would have loved to get a SUV but I prefer the cornering abilities of sedans. The 'Alice Cooper' racoonish fake air vents are the worst part of the Camry, they remind me of a protector strip that has half fallen off. I bought the SX in Lunar Blue to hide that fake air vent a bit. It's interesting how the Atkinson cycle engine suits hybrid cars with great thermal efficiency. Best review video on the Camry Hybrid. I'm not too fussed about fuel economy (my other car is a 6.2L SS), but I couldn't handle the stress of owning a full electric vehicle.

Really frustrating that we don't get a sporty version in the UK nor can you have a sunroof or jbl sound system which is ludicrous as the fing Yaris has it. Reckon that's Lexus influence so it doesn't steal sales of the ES.

Why please tell me the Camry has to run on 95ron while the RAV 4 with the same motor and transaxle petrol or hybrid runs on 91ron ? ...for a vehicle looking to economic motoring big fat own goal I reckon.

Just run E10 in them. In the government camry's I drive, the fuel card only accepts E10 fuel.

Does say e10 compatible bit funny because e10 can be anywhere between 91 and 94 they only stipulate the maximum ethanol not the minimum at the pump.... just had a look at the NSW e10 compatibility web page one it say use e10 but only with 95 octane rating can't say I've ever seen a pump like that at any servo.

Commodore is finished and petrol guzzler plus this thing will do at least 400000 kms more than any commodore as most commodore engines die at 150000 kms and gear box of commodore dies around 230000 kms this is coming from a guy that had every commodore
