Toyota Codes P0607 With P0138 - How To Diagnose Yourself

If you’re getting p0607 code - control module performance - with an oxygen O2 sensor code P0136, P0137, P0138, P0139 - chances are it will be P0138 oxygen O2 sensor and not your computer.

Had this happen to me today but about 3 miles after I hit a large puddle of water. P0607, P0136 and P0138. Both upstream and downstream sensors have been on the car for 167K miles. I have had both Denso sensors in my Amazon cart for 5 years. I changed them on car at 77K and now car has 244K. Camry. I am going to replace both.

I think the big puddle was your problem, not likely both just failed but if you want to change them it’s a good idea being you have a lot of mileage on them anyway.

@@Motorcarnut I am resigned to say the water was my issue. I have cleared the codes and for 2 days now there are no pending or active codes. Sensors have been ordered. Denso only. Car seems to run better since clearing these codes. Looking forward to better gas mileage with new sensors

@@Motorcarnut I think I have the same issue, I have had P0037, P0138 and P0137 but no P0607 for a while but I drove the car in puddle of water for a long drive because it was raining and there was pool of water on the road, then bang there was P0607 along with other 3. But the car drive and run like nothing is wrong with it but I think I will fix the O2 sensor issue, thank you

Hello I really need your help I have a 2008 toyota matrix with code p0606 and p0607

These codes are related to a bad ECM ( computer) but most times it’s not. Make sure you don’t have any LED’S installed and if there is a short from taillight to the brake light circuit inside the bulb this could trigger those codes as well. Also make sure battery is good as well as the alternator.

I have the P0138 and C1280. Replaced the 02 sensor with a new denso and codes came back. Any ideas?

Their not related codes, could be other O2 sensor you didn’t replace, got to monitor them with a scan tool to know for sure.

@Motorcarnut Thanks for the reply. We'll the codes were for bank 1 sensor 2. I replaced it with new denso and same code appeared
