@@robertulrich3964 sure, there were 2 hours between sessions, which is pretty standard for many time attack and racing groups. My point being it is an issue but not one that many people see in the real world because most people aren’t going to be racing these at a more strenuous rate than that. The biggest fallacy I see is people in particular indicating that all it takes is 1 - 3 laps. This may be the case for a small minority but in my experience driving on track and talking to other owners in the groups I’ve driven in, I’ve yet to hear anyone actually run into the issue. Again not to say it doesn’t exist, it’s just not THAT prominent. Same with the oil pressure issues in the GR86/BRZ does it exist? Yes. Have the vast majority of owners who track their 86/BRZ run into the consequences of this? Not from what I’ve seen. Real question, how does it drive as a strictly FWD vehicle? Folks seem to love driving the Civic Type R and Hyundai Elantra N cars and they are of course FWD. Like is the "magic" lost when the GR Corolla turns into FWD only? Or is it also fun, just in a different way?
@Curtis_Good9 ай бұрын
@@ragweedmakesmesneeze It's still fun but you can tell a big difference right away. If you're expecting the car to behave like an AWD car and you don't see the warning, it's unnerving.

Title: BRZ vs GR Corolla Intro: this is not a comparison
@AnonymousPerson-h5z6 ай бұрын
Driving Fwd on the 10/10ths limit is actually more challenging than awd to left foot brake weight transfer and actually most fwd rarely let go of the throttle in cornering and liftover oversteer cars rears with precision in turns that seasoned rwd and awd drivers struggle to replicate without tons of practice
@RedLP5000S9 ай бұрын
The GR86 has much better styling and can be optioned with a Porsche-like duck spoiler and a performance resonance exhaust. It truly is beautiful in person. The GR Corolla is also great looking with the wide body kit. I hope you guys eventually get your chance in the U.K. Cheers.

The TC GR hot hatch actually looks better than that BRZ!

8:35 $31k is a lot of money for a small little coupe. It really should be mid 20's.
@oemj71479 ай бұрын
No. A base Corolla or Civic are mid 20s. This "small coupe" is a bargain for a couple thousands more.
@barsaf99899 ай бұрын
@@oemj7147 a base corolla is low 20s. I would still argue that 31 is too much for a smaller car with a manual trans, non turbo, and still cheap interior. Even a civic si is high 20s, and that a much bigger car.

Try drifting a corolla or civic and see what that extra money gets you.

@@harrybuhse8622 damn harry I just realized, a base wrx is cheaper! Lol
@oemj71479 ай бұрын
@@barsaf9989 So a Porsche should cost less than an Accord because it's smaller? The Civic SI is a FWD econobox. A lot less car than an RWD sports car like the BRZ/GR86 or a Miata.
@jimiverson30859 ай бұрын
OTOH, I would be interested in the GR Yaris and we can't get that in the US. And I believe you can get the GR86 in Europe, which means that not getting the BRZ is no hardship. Regrading your comment on weight on the GR, no performance car ever, ever needed more weight. If the suspension setup is off, fix that. DO NOT wish for a heavier car. If Colin Chapman were alive, he would shun you for that remark.

GR corolla is a terrible car if your comparing it at the pricepoint of what its at. Also terrible platform that japan shops arent really getting into. I was a gr corolla fan till i talked to some people who actually track with it

We get the new CTR which has been widely acclaimed and testers say its much better all around than the Corolla GR, we do get the Toyota GR86 which you obviously know is exactly the same car as the Subaru. There are some cool cars from USA we don't get, how about you actually show those instead?
