This was so satisfying to watch. Special shout out when at 12:30 Ben Smith gets sucked away. LOL. Cheers mate. I wish I had that Echo.

Crazy that you bought all these gems for such low prices. Some of them are legendary. Basically it’s like picking an abandoned Ferrari from the ground for free.

Can't believe you didn't wear latex or nitrile gloves for that. I would have worn like three pairs! Also, have you considered a headmount for your camera, so that you don't have to do everything one-handed?

I love the idea of this show and seeing you learn along the way, as well as myself. I have a Toyota Yaris which seems to share the front of your car but not the back end. We've never had a long version in the UK as far as I'm aware. Is the smaller version called a Yaris over there whilst the sedan version called an Echo? I'm planning on cleaning mine out and painting loads of panels to freshen them up so vids like these showing how to remove things are great. Subscribing because the UK Wheeler Dealers was great viewing as I grew up and I've recently stumbled upon Mighty Car Mods and smashed through it so I like your mash up and with a small budget gives inspiration and ideas to a lot of people. A little bit of work can go a long way. It's just making the effort worth it with lower priced vehicles where the potential for a big gain in re-selling doesn't seem that great. This is the first video I've seen of yours so I'm not sure what content you have. Fingers crossed it's along what I am thinking.

About to buy a 2003 Toyota Echo for 4K with 100K miles on it. 😁 rare and reliable.
@thousanddollarcarguy3 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a rediculous amount of money. If you like the platform and want to save money you can also look at the first gen scion xa and xb platform. They are literally the same chassis as well as engine and transmissions in a different shape. I wouldnt pay more than 1500 for any of them. Best of luck in your purchase
@ShutterSpeedGaming3 жыл бұрын
@@thousanddollarcarguy I looked on Kelly Blue Book and that’s the fair market price for the car. Most ones I looked at that cost 4K have well over 100K miles on them. The one I’m getting is the only one I found for the price at 100K miles. Also idk if you know but right now it’s a used car shortage in the US.
@thousanddollarcarguy3 жыл бұрын
@@ShutterSpeedGaming its your money and you can do with it as you please. In my opinion the echo isnt worth half what they are asking. If you drive the car for the next 15 years then sure thats a good investment. Maybe because i go through them so quickly i always look at what can i sell it for the second i buy it. Also depends on the cost of fuel. The echo is a cheap built car with few options. The best thing going for it is fuel economy. In a market where gas is expensive it drives the cost up. When gas is cheap it causes the price to go down. Since gas is up right now its price is inflated. If you like it. And you feel its a fair deal than by all means purchase it. I personally cant justify the inflated price. Best of luck with your new ride.

you ever considered pressure washing the seats and carpets? strip out the interior and wash it then let it dry. So much easier.
@thousanddollarcarguy7 жыл бұрын
I suppose since this is a cheap car it wouldn't bother me to pressure wash the seats. Whats the worse that happens right? they get wet.
@JyveKilla7 жыл бұрын
I have done it heaps of times carpet and all, shits mint afterwards. It takes about 2 weeks to dry and it dries out of the car better. It depends how quick you can flip it, it might hold you up.

I bought a 2003 Cavalier Coupe last month that was far more disgusting on the inside than this Echo was and I had wish I wore gloves from finding broken glass underneath the back seat was a tell tell sign it's been hit before to finding old nasty French fries 🍟. Now I sold the car for more than what I've paid for it.

Thousanddollarcarguy I May be a year late replying back to you but ironically I paid $1000 for a 2-Door Echo after I sold the cavalier and now the Echo has been my daily driver for about 2yrs until a decent buyer comes along. I bought the car with 83,000 miles on it now it has 104,000 on it and I have replaced all the worn out coils and spark plugs mass airflow sensor etc. Now I have the car running great with the for sale price up by another $1,000.

YES, yes i have. Im not much of a honda guy, im like one of the only people on the planet where i had so many problems with my honda Fit that i traded it in and only broke even. I drove a 89 Civic with like 250k miles on it and it felt tighter than a early 2000's buick with 50k miles on it.

Joe Armijo I know what you mean but at the same time, my car isn't that much better. It's not until you stop and look to see what's going on. Most casual drivers just get in, go and that's that. Over time, human slime develops without really you noticing. I'm turning the corner though and seeing my car as something to cherish and enhance rather than something to get me from A to B.
