Thank you for such a great video. Definitely the best off road FJ Cruiser footage I have seen! Very impressive.

Appreciate you posting this video, do you happen to know what rear springs are being used with the 5160s? The narration is spot on.

I put Bilstein 2" springs on the back, wish I went a little stiffer but they are not bad.

Nice FJC, I have the same color 2016 with TTUE 6112/5160 combo and incidentally the same brilliant Yokohama MT G003 except mine is in stock size 265-70x17. Nice video demonstrating the abilities of the FJ.

Great footage love the Blue FJ. Do you know if he upgraded the rear springs and the oem upper control arms with that mid travel? Looking forward to putting the same mid travel on my 2008 FJ TT

Sorry I am to 100% sure but I think it’s medium load spring. Hence no front bumper yet.

Very curious to know if he had to chop or had any rubbing inside the inner fender wheel well at full lock with this tire size?
@philizzo8369 Жыл бұрын
I had to do a BMC to fit the Geolander MTs, In 2 days at Rausch I only rubbed 3 times on the inner plastic and it was very minor. A person in our group was running 35s without sway bars and he had a ton of inner fender plastic rubbing. I hope this helps happy to answer any other questions you might have.

@@philizzo8369 Are you considering getting a HD rear swaybar and removing the front swaybar like Kai's white LT FJ? Kai seems to have found a configuration to maximize cross travel index. I feel that you having both swaybars on restricted your articulation and caused your tires to lift too much in the video. Love your blue FJ...extremely clean and capable.

Planning to get Uronman Foamcell 2" lift with some BFG or Falken/Yokohama 285/70/17. I've been told these are LT tires and would impact the transmission/gearbox in the long-term since they are heavier tires - been told to change the gear ratio. Did you have do that or face any problems?
@4WDisLife2 ай бұрын
I don’t see the need for doing that only going up to 285/70r17 LT.
@FLYAEROBOY2 ай бұрын
@@4WDisLife Cheers for clarifying that!
@4WDisLife2 ай бұрын
@@FLYAEROBOY no problem, but keep in mind that every ones need and perception to "enough power" is different, I would recommend to go with those tires you want first and drive it for a good amount of time (several months) then decide from there, I don't think its going to harm your drive train at all going only to a 33 inch equivalent size LT tires.
@Jerrymc1975Ай бұрын
You only need to change gear when you use 35’s or higher. No need for a gear change with 33’s

@@Jerrymc1975 Just got 33's last week with 2" lift - feels so much higher and just about right! Love it

Thanks for the video. Nice job. How does it ride on road and off-road compared with stock, especially off-road? My purpose of upgrading the shocks is to go fast off-road with comfort. I often do long distance driving off-road. I have been doing some research and reaching a conclusion that 6112/5160 is the best budget friendly option for that. However, I have watched several videos and got understanding that Bilstein are generally harsh/firm side. That sounds not comfortable. What has been your experience?
@4WDisLife Жыл бұрын
thank you for the comment. While not owning this FJ. I do own a tundra that is also on 6112/5160 setup and I have great experience with them. I don’t do fast Off-roading but I have heard of the speed is up the suspension will behave differently on bumps.
@RealeaD Жыл бұрын
@@4WDisLife Thanks for reply. How firm/stiff is it compared to stock? As I often drive long distance off-road, I am looking for suspension that would allow faster driving at least than stock suspension.
@4WDisLife Жыл бұрын
@@RealeaD oh it’s going to be way better than stock in terms of handling fast Off-roading, for my use on the road they feel much firmer than stock suspension.

It cant be 285/75 r17, it should be 285/70 r17. 75s It would be well outside stock fenders and would destroy plastic splashers in front behind the tire.
