On the contrary, people will lap up this Fortuner even more. You see, while Ford shot itself in its foot with the last gen endeavor, Toyota smartly built the brand name of Fortuner with good reliability and image. Yes, the ridiculous 5K km Toyota service interval is stupid, yet people pay for it simply because of the good service and reliability. Ford did nothing, no particular brand image, nor any good A.S.S. Objectively good products do not necessarily translate into better sales. Its difficult to change a brand perception, and with a car company like Toyota; it won't go down.

It has way better exterior design(some may not like the front bumper but it is ok for me). It is a head turner especially with those led lights and chrome alloys. If it didn't have the toyota logo outside, people cpuld have mistaken it as a luxury suv

Good first impresissions. @2:40 to @3:00 : To my understanding, the 4x4 hardware in the previous gen fortuner was more 'proper'. It included a center differential, essentially giving it the ability to run 'full-time' four wheel drive. It supposedly also employed a lockable torsen type center diff, thereby being able to proportionate torque between the front and rear axles. The center diff was also lockable, in both high range and low range ratios.So the old fortuner's hardware was not just a basic setup that simply sent torque to front when slip was detected, but a proper unit, and more off-road oriented than the current one's. While all this was good when off-road and in slippery conditions, on good tarmac it translated to excess bulk and lost efficiencies. The new Fortuner, if I am not mistaken, decided to drop the center diff, thus it is no longer a full-time four wheel drive, but a part-time unit, the basic layout similar to the 4x4 hardware in a Safari or Thar. It is thus now able to run rear wheel drive only, which the old one was not able to, and thus more efficient. Instead of the superior mechanical bits in previous car, current Fortuner has clever electronics dubbed under 'A-TRAC' that help it tackle offroad sections better.

Can you please suggest? I want to buy suv and confused between endeavour and fortuner. I want to own it for 5-7 years. Mostly ride is Highway and occasioal off roads very less of city drive as this will be my secondary car.. I personally prefer the endeavour. I feel fortuner is at Premium and cheap plastic and interior feel. Have just heard about reliability of fortuner, but feel it's hyped. Kindly suggest in both top variants. Also, due to this BS-VI fuel coming soon. Should we wait for BS-VI compliant vehicle or just go ahead of buying BS-IV. What would be the implications on BS-VI fuel in BS-IV vehicle.

we can say all we want about Fortuner on social forums but the real buyers of this car will never see these comments. The reason being they are busy in constructing buildings or asking ransom or murdering/threatening someone or has political connections, even person having all these traits combined. No doubt fortuner is blacklisted by most insurance companies. For the record, I love Fortuner.

Fortuner any day 😍😍 waiting for the facelift model. Yes my heart tells Endeavor but it's only best if you are purchasing for 5 years keep a Ford above 5 years you'll end up in minor and major issues.. I do remember days back when my dad had Ford Ikon 2000 model diesel and considered lucky if it started without push start had to say thanks so many kind people in the roads to push our car ... God I hate the battery and fuel pumps inside.. Maintenance bill came near a lakh once(Back the cars market price was nearly 1.7 lakh) Mostly car was at Service centre. But we treated it without thinking about price and finally had to let it go😫😫

No.....no Sir you are wrong at 2:47 the old Fortuner was full time 4 wheel drive in the normal driving mode it would function with a 70:30 split in power between the rear and front axle respectively.

The old Fortuner had a full time 4-wheel drive system and not a full time all wheel drive system. The power was transmitted to all four wheels in the default H mode. Not the kind of blunder I would expect from you guys!
