Toyota GR Corolla, GR86 and GR Supra Track Experience / Which One?/ YS Khong Driving

We had a short stint with the GR models at the track. first off, I am glad that UMW Toyota have decided to bring in the manual models for the Supra and
the GR 86. Of course they also sell the auto, but it is the manuals that the real driving enthusiasts will go for.
All of them are unique and are fun to drive, each one having its own endearing qualities.

Not too sure. Check the GR garages. Stocks are short, so I doubt there are many around. If you want to buy, watch my video, and take a leap of faith. You can also see for yourself how the car is behaving. It is hard to bluff when you are actually driving the car, especially when you are going at speed.

Seems like the GR Corolla is cutting revs on launch? Might be a small mistake in the programming of the auto rev match. Since the engine speed is higher than the transmission/wheel, it might be cutting off power to match the engine revs to the wheel.

Yes, it needs to go easier at take off. I saw another video where the engine stalled because driver was inexperienced. I lifted off momentarily to allow it to catch and take off.

They need to put the 1.6 T in the GR86 and make it a true GR86 Corolla. Also add the lift back function like the supra so we can deliver tofu.

Hey Uncle: Great that you got to drive all of them back to back. Which one did you enjoy the driving dynamics more? Corolla, 86 or Supra?

Certainly it was the 86. It was the most engaging one of all. When I drove the Supra, it was a bit wetter, so I had to squeeze the power more gently, so that I wouldn't spin off. Ceetainly you can be faster in the Supra or the GR Corolla, but you can challenge yourself to bring the 86 to its limit and slightly beyond. Experience would count if ypu want to drive the other two faster, but if a whole bunch of drivers were to race in the stock 86, only the best drivers would emerge in front.

We have no idea, but I think it will be available. Why give up something good? And now the same engine can be tuned higher. I am sure the actual rally version ia much higher powered, and the delivery system is different. The chassis is well balanced, and it would make a great club sport car. It would be good if they can come out with a real RS version, a bare bones variant without the ADAS, for enthusiasts to build up. No carpets, just rubber mats, etc.

The GR Corolla and the Supra are more powerfull, but the 86 is the most fun. The Corolla can corner like it's on rails, if your marbles are big enough, but you need more time to find the limit. With the 86, a good driver can push it to the limit and find it straight away.
