Love this road. Despite it being in a rental 1 litre polo, I had the time of my life. Scenic, terrifying and never straight for too long. Aerial shots are world class. Well done!👌

I have driven the pants off a GR Yaris, and loved it! I have a 2022 Corolla hatch Hybrid, which actually handles ok, and drives nice. Would love to drive a GR Corolla though! Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

I already done lots off mods on my friends Gr corolla. MagnaFlow exhaust, cold air intake from Eventuri, Shifter bushings, tune from ECUtec. He gets tons of dust on rims and calipers from the brakes. All the mods we did helped it a lot on performance and sound. We are doing intercooler and downpipe and done until it needs a clutch then install a sequential transmission.

Great review, great video. Fantastic location. Well done. Toyota should consider a sedan version of this GR Corolla. Don't get me wrong, I really do like this hatch and the GR Yaris but the Corolla sedan is a smart looking car, adding the GR bits would be great.

Maannn...so much want right now! Reminds me of time I started to like Cars. I remember the Toyota Corolla twin cam 16v, then followed up by the RSI and RXI. Thereafter, my enthusiasm for Toyota waned, overall. Now, not sure if its due to your fabulous car journo traits or that Toyota have truly found its feet, when it comes to delivering exiting cars. Road surface looks a lot better than it did in late 2021 when I last drove there for some "fun". My car had so many rattles after driving on that pass that I have just been avoiding it. That Corolla GR is properly planted around those corners

Epic review !!! Very observant viewers picked up that this Circuit Edition didn’t have a vented bonnet. There are a few differences with the US spec version vs SA. I suspect these differences are as a result of brining costs down so that it could be priced cheaper than the Golf R Some of the things I didn’t get in my CE , Vented bonnet, Boot spoiler, 19 inch tyres (SA gets 18 inch), Blind Spot monitoring ( this was a standard feature in the Corolla XR), Heated seats (this was also a standard feature in the Corolla XR) no JBL Premium sound system . There are also a couple of poverty buttons on the variants that we are getting in SA. Despite the differences this car will leave you smiling like a jackass every time you get behind the wheel.

So in summary if your looking for a hot hatch in SA your best bet is this not only because its cheaper but you can actually get it before the electric Golf 9 comes out. For evreyone else who doesnt have at or around a million Rand to spend there is the Swift Sport(which im still hoping for a video review of) which gives you as good as a thrill at about half the price and less in consumables.
