Thank you for all the videos, you are doing more in depth mechanical investigation than anyone I have seen for this platform. What is the performance limit for the GR Four AWD System? I can't imagine it could hold up to high torque like the Evo or STi could or am I wrong? No center diff in the GR. Again thank you and the English is appreciated.

The overheating comes from the rear clutch pack unit , not the differential… According to some pictures and blueprints it seems that the clutch pack unit is sealed , so the pump you are installing would really help just if you will install the GR plated diff… With the torsen it is really not a problem the oil temp, infact the temperature sensor is on the clutch unit and not on the differential case (like on Subarus).

I think Cusco gives total 750ml, from stock 475ml. Also, try keeping the HRNSHN vent, it blows on the clutch pack also.

The cap cusco sells for the diffs are 250cc capacity

Cusco cap doesnt fix the issue. I have seen it fail when pushed on track…

The temperature issue comes from the itcc unit not the rear diff itself. I’m sure this mod will help a lot, but at the same time I’m not sure whether is going to fix the actual issue by itself.

Also does the diff and rear viscous clutch pack share oil? As it seems more likely the clutch oil would overheat first?

The ITCC is isolated from the rear differential.

Don't we also need cooling for the transfer oil?

I’ve been very curious on the effectiveness of this. The clutch and differential use separate oil, but are one thermal unit because they’re mechanically connected and therefor conduct thermal energy. Cooling the diff oil should decrease itcc temp, in theory. How much, I suppose we’ll find out.

Great point. The STi has a similar yet smaller EM clutch pack for the DCCD center diff. It does not see as much torque transfer though. A lot more clutch plates on the Toyo unit. I just can't see why they used such a low volume of oil it's not a very HD design. Still a fan of both though.

I am under the impression that Syvecs ECU can take care of the differential cooling problem. Are you going to mess up with the differentials (maybe Drexler, Cusco etc)? Finally, have you ever used Evans coolant?

We haven‘t had any more overheating issues so far. So it seems as that solved the problem.

@@RotheliRacing that’s great news! Many believed it was the coupler/ITCC overheating that was the issue and not the diff itself! Hope to see the GR Yaris back on track!
