They don’t pull anyone over knowing you have all of this stuff, they pull you over for 1 thing and depending on how good their coffee was and how much of an ass you want to be will depend on how much they write on your defect

Nice looking lux Kaito. Careful with those engine mods dont forget the 1kd is only a small engine. The best mod to make on the 1kd is to bin the catch can and install a plate with 7mm hole from KAON . Fixes all the egr issues. Tyler, appreciate all your videos and hard work especially with lockdown now in Melb. Hope to see you back in the vic highcountry soon.
@dale85354 жыл бұрын
What’s a catch can go to do with egr? It’s stopping blow by oil going back into clean air intake.
@kaitosutton4 жыл бұрын
Thankyou mate. Catch can and EGR are totally different though, the catch can filters the oil out of the rocker cover breather before it goes back into the intake stopping oil particles, and the egr recycled exhaust gas back into the intake for emission reasons, when the 2 mix together is where you get issues. I’ve fitted a catch can to stop oil build up in the intake pipe to the turbo. Also, 1KDs are actually a bomb proof motor, once the piston issue is sorted. I plan on going forged rods and pistons one day, and the standard head gasket and head studs are good for 60psi of boost, this has been well tested in the diesel drag racing scene.

Interesting to hear his reason for the exhaust mod, I've always had my exhaust bent and exit the side for the very same reason. Three point turns on narrow C roads with dirt banks is why I turn mine, when they're side exit even at the rear behind the tyre, they'll only bend and not jam the entire exhaust system which does a lot more damage

Also has multilink coil rear. Planning to go for 32s (265/75/16) or 33s (285/75/16). A simple 2 inch lift is enough for the 32s. Doesn't the crawl speed increase due to 33s affect driving on steep technical tracks? Is diff regearing required? Also by how much does the Phatbars diff drop bring down the diff height by? A full inch or more?

One thing ive always wondered with the staino snorkels. If water gets in when it rains, and the drain valve lets water out. How does that go for a waterproof airbox in deep water crossings? Or do people normally block up the drain valve in the airbox? Me personally id rather a secondary filter over a pre, as thats a better safe guard if somethings gets past the factory filter. Cool video though something different in this bullshit covid time, i can see the envy in ur eyes with that tray and canopy 😉 wont be long til you get one for sure lol.

I'm curious to know where the terminology N70/N80 came from with Hilux. I have worked for Toyota for 21 years and this is not something we use as Toyota employees. Is this something that people have just made up? Or where did it come from? If you ask me, the Hilux in this video is a KUN26R. Not having a go, just curious.

I believe it was popularised by the after market scene and the n70/n80 is referring to body shape. If I try searching for products for my 2006 hilux I get way more hits searching for n70 products rather then kun26 or by year

Unless you want to pay me enough money so I can quit my job and go 4wding and camping every week and dedicate more time to this channel (already put 30-40 hours a week into it) then this is the best I can do. I put in a lot of effort to put out a video every single Sunday but they aren't always going to be 4wding and camping videos. It's a bit frustrating when I put so much time and effort into this and do the best I can and people still complain its not good enough. I also already explained this to someone else in the pinned comment above so have a read of that.
