Toyota Innova Zenix Hybrid Genting Hillclimb - Future Genting Taxi? | YS Khong Driving

Toyota launched the Innova Zenix few months back, they introduced the 2.0L Petrol and the 2.0L HEV (Hybrid) variant to the Malaysian market. We brought up the 2.0L HEV (Hybrid) variant up Genting to see how it performs. P.S., I can say it is one of the most economical run up Genting.
The Toyota Innova Zenix 2.0L HEV (Hybrid) outputs 186PS and 206Nm through an E-CVT to the front wheel only. This car is a 7 seater MPV and each row gets aircond, which is a crucial feature for Malaysia's weather!
The Toyota Innova Zenix HEV (hyrbrid) priced at RM202k while the non-hybrid variant priced at RM165k. The Hybrid variant offers a few interior and exterior upgrade which are the panoramic sunroof and captain seats on the second row, then you get a very economical car for day to day drive. I think this new FWD Zenix TNGA Monocoque platform eliminates the 'truck-ish' old RWD last gen Innova ladder frame. The body rigidity stiffness significantly improved. Therefore so much more confidence when doing maneuver at it's limit like uncle YS doing. Although for the long-term durabilty the old RWD Innova ladder-frame platform seems more convincing.

The Toyota Zenix hybrid's waiting period is 15 months in India.Any vehicle can be used as a Genting Taxi.Zenix is a premium vehicle and highly in demand in India and Indonesia.No one should under estimate this vehicle.It may not be sports car but it serves family and business purpose.

Not that much in terms of power as tue petrol version shares the same engine as the Harrier: the hybrid version really saves fuel. This hybrid is similar to the system in the RAV4, so you are getting real Toyota tech and quality , hemce the steeper price point.
