Thank you for this. Just bought an 05 GX470. Planning to do all the fluids. Going back with a 60/40 mix (-60 F) and a block heater. The car will be going to Fairbanks, AK .

Set the heater controls to high. This opens up the heater core so coolant can flow through

Was it difficult to get the air bubbles to rise up and out?

Use spill proof funnel and gravity will take care of bubbles. Just make sure the engine reaches its optimum temperature level. Once the engine gets cold, you might have to refill your coolant reservoir.
